Big Bad Broja

Couldn't find an open topic apologies if there is one and I've missed it.
Had a little look sat some old videos this morning due to a certain baby not wanting to sleep in and currently sitting in my bed watching a cartoon about a horse.
6 foot 1 but slim and athletic. Similar to Dom in that he's a really good athlete rather than a big lanky guy.
Back to goal he looks more refined than Dom, nice neat close touches to keep possession. Has something Dom doesn't here as well which is he can turn back to goal hold up play into something more offensive by rolling or turning, and he's very good at dribbling with quick feet, good balance, strength and some real pace.
In the box he doesn't look like a one touch 6 yard box finisher like Dom, but maybe more of a drop of the shoulder and hit, try and pick it up off a good attacking player and find space inside the box (but not necessarily the 6 yard box). He does not really get many shots off. When he does tho he's got a good hard low strike.
He can head it and has a good leap, but he's 6 foot 1 so he might struggle contesting for our big lumps up field.
It's very very very possible he's completely cooked, as he's had bad injuries and couldn't force his way into Fulhams side last year up front or out wide, and has then had another bad injury. If he is cooked then that pace knocking it past a player, that strength in holdup and balance on the dribble might be completely gone. Leaving a striker who can't compete physically, who isn't a poacher. This would be very bad and would make him useless to us tbh.
If he can get fit though, and isn't cooked physically then you get probably the closest thing to Ollie Watkins I can think of in the prem. Muscular and balanced, good feet and able to push and run to create separation, or use quick neat touches to dance his way into space to keep the ball for his side. But similar to Watkins in his younger days he doesn't strike me as a big time goal machine. That changed for Watkins and he started bagging, maybe Broja can make the same leap.

Yeah there are similarities.
And if I’m being completely honest he did ok at the Euro’s considering he was carrying a knock.

Reckon he'll barely make an appearance and we'll probably send him back in Jan to avoid paying wages.

Loving your work, bro. Enjoyable read. Balanced take, makes me feel a bit more optimistic than perhaps I should….?

Nah he's a good talent, the only question mark is the injuries and how much that has taken away from him.
If he can get fit he can contribute.

Folks who know about sports science: today is it possible to have a good idea of the state of the players fitness long term, for example if they’ve had 1. A run of Bad luck with injuries. 2. An underlying issue that’s not going away. 3. Cheese allergy (I had something else for 3 but very tired so just put cheese for now).
So like with Broja and DCL will we have a good idea or is it just based on guesswork and inuition.

I don’t get why it’s become a thing amongst our fans that this lad is rubbish?
The injures are an obvious concern but he’s a good player. Well worth taking the risk.

Really really like him. Very pleased.
Injuries are a concern but if that holds up then we have a v good player! And so young too !

Yeah, well worth the risk.
Downside, we get little to nothing out of him and he goes back to Chelsea.
Upside, we get a talented, young forward who can hold the ball up and help us transition from defense into attack for an already negotiated price.
Dyche is obsessive about fitness. I hope he can build him back up to the level he was at physically with Southampton because that player would be a huge asset for us.
