Exactly. I’d have expected that from any competent business. It was fairly obvious what the risk was with this deal!HANNU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 7:39 pm i mean in terms of we could have inserted a clause that if he cant stay fit we can send him back, he came to us injured and has a horrible injury record,
just seems wild that we wouldnt include that in the terms, unless we agreed a really low fee and % of wages but i have no idea what we agreed to pay

You'd imagine so.
I'd love Dewsbury Hall tho just based on his stellar champo season.

Re: Big Bad Broja
It is very Everton to keep a crocked player who is taking up a loan slot, instead of returning to sender and loaning in a replacement who can at least stand up and maybe even run a little.
Re: Big Bad Broja
The deal was that Chelsea would pay his wages in full until he was fit to play and Everton would pay once fit and able to play, we can send him back if we pay his wages untill the end of the loan period.
“It is understood Chelsea agreed to cover the Albania international’s wages while he was out with the achilles problem,” says Hunter.
“Because [his injury] is unrelated to the achilles problem, Chelsea want Everton to pay the remaining cost of the loan before terminating the deal.”
Re: Big Bad Broja
Maybe the loan deal doesn't allow that?NomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:38 pm It is very Everton to keep a crocked player who is taking up a loan slot, instead of returning to sender and loaning in a replacement who can at least stand up and maybe even run a little.

You have to hope that the budget is there for us to do that and then cover another loan to replace him.Escalator wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:23 pm The deal was that Chelsea would pay his wages in full until he was fit to play and Everton would pay once fit and able to play, we can send him back if we pay his wages untill the end of the loan period.

Or we just buy their car park, it’d be more use than Broja.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:42 pm Can’t they just sell the staff car park to themselves to cover costs?

Re: Big Bad Broja
Is it really unrelated from the achilles? If he's not out for months with that issue, he's probably not getting this other injury. Impossible to know though.Escalator wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:23 pm The deal was that Chelsea would pay his wages in full until he was fit to play and Everton would pay once fit and able to play, we can send him back if we pay his wages untill the end of the loan period.

But we don’t need somewhere to park the bus any more now that Dyche has gone, do we?Bluebridge wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:47 pm Or we just buy their car park, it’d be more use than Broja.

Say it was 100k (might be less ?) that would be about £1.9 million from today, try to negotiate and maybe pay a million to get rid.
P.s Quick google and he’s not on anything near 100k, showing between 40 and 78k
