Re: Iliman Ndiaye
If we can sell at say 60m, it would have been a very successful transfer. Would be more than happy with that.
Very good player and really like him but never going to be double figures for both G + A for us. Good time to cash in, if the money is right.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye
If he goes and Grealish stays at City it’s a shame with hindsight that George and Dibling weren’t given more playing time
Re: Iliman Ndiaye
Should have sorted a contract out at the end of last season, and certainly before we brought in Grealish on mega bucks.
He’ll know his worth and know he can get a much better deal elsewhere now.
Pay him big money, with a clause that comprises us, or lose him this summer I think.

Depends if we’d be happy in letting Moyes spend most of the fee on getting Bowen in instead…Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2026 4:23 pm If we can sell at say 60m, it would have been a very successful transfer. Would be more than happy with that.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye
He's got a contract for another 3 years, not sure what the panic is about. His value won't deteriorate much in 12 months. It's at that point we'll need to make a decision on his future.
Re: Iliman Ndiaye
I think it’s more, by rejecting several contract offers it appears he has made a decision about his own future.
Re: Iliman Ndiaye
So? Did we think he'd be here 5 years? His value won't go down (much) in 12 months even with an average season. 3 years left on his contract. We hold all the cards. Unless he wants to pull an Isak or Wissa but I don't think he's that sort of character and according to the article he hasn't asked to leave.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye
Yeah, 3 years is a solid amount of time remaining on the deal. Both sides have decent negotiating power at the moment, barring him really throwing his toys out of the pram and even then I doubt we'd be over the barrel to let him go cheaply.
Right now if I was to guess, I'd probably ever so slightly lean with him going this summer based on vibes...but weirdly I'd also not be too surprised with a new deal announcement and a behind the scenes handshake to leave the following year.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye
Here's some context from Bobble, doesn't seem to be anything unusual to worry about right now, other than a decent World Cup performance
Re: Iliman Ndiaye
From that article:
"Ndiaye has not yet actively pushed to leave and neither his commitment nor his relationship with manager David Moyes have been called into question."
"a point of contention is the addition of an exit clause that could be triggered as early as this summer...The club are likely to place a prohibitive valuation, in line with the €80million Barcelona paid Newcastle United for Anthony Gordon, on Ndiaye in an attempt to deter suitors."
"The 26-year-old has three years remaining on his current contract and no exit clause"
Either media literacy is well, well down in the general population or people are choosing to draw incorrect conclusions here.
Absolute story about nothing.
If we are wanting to put a £70/€80m release clause in his contract, even if he doesnt sign it, it does nothing but let other clubs know what number we consider his value.
He wants a contract that reflects his star-billing in the team, we want to give him one with adequate assurances.
There is a disagreement about what that assurance looks like
He is obviously happy to stay if that is the sticking point
This couldn't look more like a bog-standard contract negotiation (including one-side leaking to the press the sticking point to try to pressure the other side).

Re: Iliman Ndiaye
Wasn’t that Thelwell and his team, though? Are some of them still in place?
I’ve got no axe to grind with the new transfer committee btw, other than Moyes’ involvement in it (would prefer a coach, particularly one who is unlikely to be here long-term, to just concentrate on coaching rather than meddling in recruitment)
