Sitting on the bench getting 10mins here or there won’t help either of them
I think Tim is probably one of those players where we keep them around and use sparingly as they aren't good enough but their ceiling isn't high enough to warrant loaning out... Squad player who you wouldn't rely on but fine in as a late sub or in an injury crisis.

Armstrong looks like he has a much higher ceiling so definitely needs to be developing by playing regularly, hopefully we can get him a loan in the top half of the championship next season.

So if I’m reading you right Andy, Jimmy Garner is probably Timmy’s ceiling.

Yeah I'd say if he develops to his potential I'd have him around that level, different player as he's more energetic and busy but for me he's a level below Garner right now and I wouldn't expect him to develop beyond that.

I still think we got the best end of the deal we did with Villa even if I don't rate the lad, Dobbin wasn't even worth giving minutes to at all imo, whereas 10 mins cameos are perfectly fine for Tim.

Comments seem to acknowledge he is athletic, very good on the ball, but lacks positional awareness so is somwhow limited.

I dont really understand that, surely the raw talent is there and the positional aspect of the game will come with game time. He's only a kid isn't he.

I remember Coleman getting the same criticism early on.

I don't think he's even decent on the ball let alone very good.

Definitely a player worth working with in there.

Interesting stats, is he really in the 99th percentile for those things? That seems weirdly high.

Budget Gana so maybe if we can improve some of his weaknesses he'll be a good backup moving forward.

He has glimpses. I want to keep him and develop him.

Garner is a no hope. Get rid.

Short memories in play here.. been out injured for ages….coupla cameo sub appearances….gets a start against one of the best footballing teams in Britain if not Europe and all of a sudden he’s not good enuff!!
Ask Brap for the possession stats in that game….I thighs we’d gone back to lump ball for the majority of our possession too….

I thought in his earlier minutes he played, he looked pretty promising. I know we capitulated in that Bournemouth game but before he got knackered he was doing very well for about 70 mins of the game.

I'm pretty relaxed on him in terms of his development, I think there is a player there. Think he can do well for us long term.

I think we've seen good flashes, especially before his injury.

Leave me out of it.

I can think he's shite without you bringing me up chief.

Ask Tim where he should be standing when the opposition have the ball.
