Aren't the charges between 2009 to 2018? So if they were stripped of titles that would be:

2011/12 - Man United champions
2013/14 - Liverpool champions
2017/18 - Man United champions

That might knock the edge off the "Aguerrroooooo" clips mightn't it?

No chance

It’ll be thanks for overspending massively, here’s a seemingly large fine but is actually pocket change to you, don’t do it again, and large bonuses and slaps on the back for PL execs

50 points. They'll stay up and apart from 1 year out of the champions league it will cost them nothing.

Honestly it's worth being relegated if it establishes you as 1 of the elite

It's very shady that again they're proposing action in the midst of the season.

I can't imagine they do anything beyond a slap on the wrist, and really anything other than relegating multiple divisions is a slap on the wrist as they can easily withstand any financial or points deduction.

You'd have to think that any outcome they actually dislike will be appealed by lawyers for years too, before being overturned.

Outside of the rights and wrongs of City's case, the FFP and PSR situation is an absolute shitshow.

Ways of complying with it like Villa selling Villa Park to themselves make it look stupid. Chelsea appear to be complying by selling hotels to themselves but no one is absolutely sure if that is within the rules and whether it might be right to alter them if it is and perhaps enforce it retrospectively.

No one has a clear understanding of it and neither Scudamore nor anyone else can give any sort of timescale to proceedings.

As we learnt last year there is no set formula for punishments and despite the calculations being made annually it is possible to have multiple deductions fall within the same season. It is completely ridiculous that clubs with no PSR charges against them have no idea what the real points totals of the clubs they are competing against are, up until, in this season's case over 30 games had been played. At an absolute minimum that has to stop.

In it's current form it just needs binning. It isn't achieving anything other than lining lawyers' and accountants' pockets as they devise ever more complex ways of avoiding it.

If you have the Premier League happy to authorise dictatorships with horrific human rights records owning football clubs in the first place then I think their increasingly incoherent attempts to stop them spending money are pointless.

I'd be in favour of proper 50%+1 fan ownership, a salary cap and a ticket price cap but with that never happening due to the size of the gravy train, I can't help think PSR would be better off scrapped.

Worth noting that nobody knows the extent of the 115 charges. There will of course be some bad ones but I'm sure the vast majority of them are insignificant breaches. 115 is a good line for the Sly6 fans to latch onto though, pretending that their clubs don't have a significantly unfair advantage already.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're given a 50 point deduction or something like that should some of the charges be so bad. Juventus were relegated for match fixing which is a worse offence, but still shows that that elites aren't always protected.

They would go down with a points deduction of that magnitude but they'd be back up in a season, so I don't think the owners would be particularly bothered.

Not sure they'd go down with minus 50. Mid 80s would still probably keep them up

Not in favour off ffp at all but ultimately city's "cheating" has been so successful that unless they are relegated multiple divisions they are untouchable anyway. If I were Newcastle I'd spend a couple of billion in 1 window to catapult themselves into the elite too.

Good read this if anyone's arsed. Apparently a scenario where we could have got top 4.

What a shame we missed out on seeing Martinez getting his arse handed to him by Besiktas in a champions league play-off :nope:

Not picking on you Cozzie, but this is flawed thinking. We'd have gotten 4th if we won more games. City signing players does not immediately mean they would have had worse results. Sure, they improved their squad but not to the detriment of our results.
