its a step in the right direction
the guys a born winner thats whats been missing from the england managers mentality
he is picking a squad to get a job done not win the nicest looking squad on paper award
I do appreciate what you're saying, it just to me feels more Capello like than something that will succeed.

Hopefully I'm wrong but realistically this appointment was very short term and so Tuchel was never going to build anything sustainable. One shot, win it or probably get sacked which is some gamble by the FA.

I was genuinely excited by the appointment but less enthused now the team has been released. If he wins it though then it'll have been worth it so fingers crossed he succeeds.

I get what you're saying, but I don't give two shiny shites what Tuchel has won or not won elsewhere. He's England's manager now and should be picking the strongest squad possible to win games and progress through tournaments.

Jordan fucking Henderson???? What the absolute fuck? He was shite when he fucked off to Saudi and he's not getting any better now. What is he bringing to the table?

Kyle Walker is doing ok in Italy at the minute, but he was absolutely fucking finished at PL level, hence the reason why Guardiola shipped him out. He's fine playing in the slower Serie A, but his.legs.are going and he couldn't keep up with the pace of the PL any longer.

It just feels.like a very lazy selection, picking players who were deemed good enough 5/6 years ago.

It's his first squad, I wouldn't be surprised if he's just seeing what a bunch of these players are about and if they've still got it in them to contribute whereas the likes of Branthwaite is a known entity and no doubt he'll be in the next squad.

Tuchel is here for a world cup and nothing else, he won't stay beyond that.

I think Tuchel is overrated but as much as people might not think it matters, he does bring the winning attitude that this England team is missing. He's only to be judged on whether England win the world cup or not.

I've randomly got free tickets for the Albania game next Friday. I'll call Tuchel a bellend if I see him.

Harry Kane moaning about being taken for granted

He’s not get Messi levels of adulation for bagging penalties against the likes of San Marino and its eating him up

Think he's got a valid point tbh, we love to get on player's backs in this country who would be adored by other nations.

One of the best strikers in the world, one of the best England have produced. Hopefully Tuchel can build the tactics around him unlike what Southgate did in the summer and get him bagging at the world cup.

It doesn't help that his entire game is ... good, I guess.

It's much easier to get excited about a player who is phenomenal at something even if they've got glaring weaknesses. That's just human nature.

He's good all round I agree but his goal scoring is pretty phenomenal. Currently on 21 Bundesliga goals this season, England's top ever scorer... He also gets a lot of assists too and is going to be the fastest player in Bundesliga history to 100 goal contributions and by some margin.

He's a brilliant player but also his lack of pace does mean the team needs to be set up around him to get the best out of him imo.

It is but that's not an observable attribute.

I had a mate ask me once, what is he exactly so exceptional at?

Is he lightning fast? Not really.
Is he a deadly finisher? Not really.
Is he a great header of the ball? Not really.
Does he have a cannon-like shot from distance? Not really.
Is he an amazing dribbler? Not really.

He's good at all those things, indeed very good at some but he doesn't have anything he's head and shoulders above everyone like Cahill, Hitzlsperger, Yakubu or Robben, all players of arguably lower calibre overall but with more memorable attributes.

I’d say he’s a deadly finisher with a cannon like shot from distance too

I'd say he has 2,3 and 4.

Yeah he's definitely a deadly finisher tbf. I think those sort of players are more celebrated when that's their main thing like Inzaghi and Van Nistelrooy.

Great all round game with Kane but nothing stands out.

That's exactly it. And that's just not very memorable.
