Regardless of any bias about JB and whether he should be in the squad or not there's absolutely no justification for selecting Dan Burn. He's decent(ish) but he's neither international class nor will he ever be.

Henderson is an even more baffling one, has he been playing well? Has he been playing at all? Can't say I've heard anything about him since he left Saudi other than I think he also left Ajax now too?

Couldn't give less of a fuck about the England team even when they're decent, but I think it shows he doesn't know English football very well, and points to the appointment being a mistake. Carsley would've been a much more intelligent appointment.

Just a poorly picked squad , at least 6 players shouldn't be in that . You could pick 25 duds and still qualify.

Carsley starting to look a lot better all of a sudden I'd imagine to a few.

I mean, you have to wait and see what they do, but on paper that's a pretty shocking selection.

Henderson was looking past it when he was still getting selected. Maybe he's got a Gareth Barry resurgence in him...but I'll be surprised.

I think Rashford back also is pretty shit based on a handful of appearances at Villa. It's back to being certain players get in despite the form of others. I don't think you can justify his inclusion based on form this season.

I was saying to one of the dads at my son's footy training last night that the squad reminds me of the dark old days where we'd just pick players on name before bombing out at the group stage.

All seems very grim but I guess we won't know until next year really how this will all play out.

tuchel can do what he likes - i dont care how average this squad looks - 'he has won 11 major trophies as a manager
southgates manager record nil - apart from the manager of the month award in the prem in aug2008
its a step in the right direction
the guys a born winner thats whats been missing from the england managers mentality
he is picking a squad to get a job done not win the nicest looking squad on paper award
