I think you'd need to take that for him at this stage rather than let him go for nothing. Fair enough he looked better at the weekend but he'd just gone 18 games without a goal and he had a 16-17 game drought last season. You can certainly blame some of that on Dyche but even before him he's been prone to long spells of not scoring and he's never been one to chip in with many assists either.

Goals win games and he's just started getting in positions to score, when coupled with his hold up play now we're getting players around him and we lose way too much switching to trampoline shins Beto or asking Chermiti to shoulder the responsibility.

Why take any risks when we need to survive and move in to the new stadium as a premier league team?
😂🤣😂 “trampoline shins” has bounced me off!

Not enough money to buy a replacement, not enough impact to PSR as out of contract soon anyway. Too much of a risk and not enough upside for a team that absolutely has to arrive at BMD as a PL team.

Imagine we bring in a great striker in Jan and let him go.

Imagine he gets injured.

Imagine the teams below us strengthening in January, because they will all try to.

Not sure I’d let him go for anything at this point. If we brought in TWO strikers, maybe.

Would back him to bag at least 5 goals under Moyes until the end of the season

Let him run out his contract with us and play in the shop window for his next signing on fee and wage packet. Go Ed mate - prove what you’re worth.

Can't see why DCL would consider West Ham at this stage. If the likes of Spurs,Villa or Newcastle wanted him in this window he should jump at it.
The likes of West Ham will still be there in the summer.

I'm not a fan of DCL in general, but I just wanted to acknowledge how well he took his goal. Very impressed with that. And his hold up play was good.
Still needs to work alot more on his first touch.

Head agrees 110%, heart says he could still sign stay and kick on, but the old arse says if he goes we will struggle to replace his presence and ability up top.

Take £15m and risk losing £100m through relegation is a horrendous business plan.

£15M for him today is £60M in spending available (assuming 4 year contract for incoming).

We'd have to replace him, so the question comes down to can we do that in 10 days? Do we have targets identified and who would be available?

If we can't replace him right now then I'd say no, not worth it.

We have to take 15m if offered. As pointed out above its 60 or even 75m in signings against ffp

He had a good game Sunday but it's a bit wild how much people think his stock has increased. He's got 1 goal in 18

Think the reality is no one is going to offer us 15m. We'd be crazy not to take it if someone did.

But then you're left with Beto and Chermiti... Why would we risk that? It's a hell of a gamble to put Beto up front for the rest of the season given we're only 4 points above the drop.

If we were 10 points clear I could understand it, but DCL whether people like it or not is built for a Moyes team in ways Beto could only dream of.

Chermiti might end up good down the line but it's not fair on him to be asked to lead the line especially given he's been out injured for ages too.

Keep DCL up top, create chances for him, get players around him and we'll be comfortably safe imo. I don't have that confidence at all with Beto there instead.

He’s such a perfect Moyes striker.

Just want him to rediscover his joy for the game and get back to something like the form he was in when he picked up that bad injury. And maybe sign a new contract if that happens.

We can forget Benitez and Lampard’s mismanagement of his injury situation and Dyche asking him to do a thankless, near impossible job.

He's hard to replace as a complete package. Movement, strength, pace, aerial ability, work rate. The players who are as complete as he is in those areas are basically out of price range. Maybe someone like El Bilal Toure could be interesting if Stuttgart don’t pick up their buy option.

I really like him and just want him to play his best football here. Can’t be bothered with him moving on and showing form at one of the London clubs or Newcastle.

Absolutely this. I'm a fan of DCL. If he can play to a similar standard to the Spurs game for the rest of the season, we would be crazy not to want him to stay. The finances needed for a similar profile, plus the risk of them not working out would make a new deal a no brainer.

It is an If though, and he might have already made up his mind to go.
