Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

No just by the end of the month seems to be the vague timeline available
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Master's reply to the DCMS Select Committee - dripping with contempt.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
What a load of drivel that letter is.
And over the 41 pages, where is the actual calculation of how the 10 points was calculated? Oh that’s right, there isn’t one.
Lots of words explaining why we deserve a punishment but no formula or explanation how they arrived at 10 points.
The Premier League have fucked this up. It’s almost a loophole in their rules that has allowed this punishment, which should also work the other way. It’s just a massive free for all on who decides what.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Tbf I do believe there was a process to getting 10 points,
"What did the Premier League tell us to give them?"
"12 points but we can't make it look too obvious"
"10 points it is"

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Couldn’t agree more G1878…waffling, paraphrasing of what he thought he said but not what he actually said re big/small clubs.
I particularly liked the bits about enforcing the rule book to all clubs..yet not to city & chelsea it appears nor the big 6 when they expressed wishes to leave and set up their own super league. The final paragraph is just a confliction of what actually happened and is happening. As there is no precedent for sanctions or punishments in the rule book that provide any certainty for the clubs!
Finally noticeable that he continued to push the point re inedependance of the committee but failed to mention:
a) they were obviously commissioned by the PL…paid for the Pl and
b)indirectly “directed” by the PL to the of the size of the punishment ie the mention of the 12 points!!
The blokes just hanging himself and making the PL look incompetent fools.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
The tone of that Masters letter doesn't bode well.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
I've no doubt that the government will take over soon enough, the Premier League are clearly not fit to sort out their own business.
However, it'll be too late for us.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
I know the punishment is harsh but I’m struggling to be angry and have any sort of sympathy for us.
The day of reckoning was always coming. We could have found a way to comply with the rules but we didn’t.
All my anger is toward Moshiri and Usmanov.
If we can’t overturn this with an appeal fronted by one of the best lawyers about we just have to accept it.
Appreciate I’m in the minority here but we put ourselves in this position.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
“That means enforcing our rulebook consistently and impartially.”
Yep - so one club gets charged twice in one season for two breaches, and another no charge for over two seasons for 115 breaches. Seems totally consistent

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
The fact that they won't produce the minutes of the meeting won't reflect at all well on Masters or the Prem though, in their desire to avoid regulation. It would suggest there's something in the minutes that they don't want to be known. If anything that will embolden the select committee.
