In a team that consists of Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Garner etc etc... we have to have some flair in it otherwise could you really be arsed turning up every week, either in person or on the TV, to watch us?

So unfortunately whether directly or indirectly alcohol does affect players bones.

He's just going to fall to bits as an athlete, maybe we'll get another 6 months out of him, either in one chunk, or split over multiple injuries across the season, but I think that's as much as he's capable of given the last few years appearance rates, and it'll only get worse in the following years.
Honestly what a load of shite that is whatever google site you got that off I’d stop using….

Mate, that might be the case if the man had been drinking to excess on a daily basis over a number of years, for all we know this was the first blow out in god knows how long.

I think we all know he's not just having a couple of blow outs a year

He's clearly a lightweight drinker, most athletes are, as they don't indulge in more than an occasional beer throughout the season so when they eventually have a few it looks from the outside like a proper session.

It wasn't so long ago players used to be on the pop all the time, we'd see them out around town. These days you see them so rarely it's headline news.

I don't think we need to have major concerns about his drinking or lifestyle. His declining abilities over the course of a contract and his wages are bigger issues.

Grealish has been photographed out on long benders before, it's why Pep dropped him after the treble.

I don't believe for a second he just has a couple of beers every now and then and is just a bit of a lightweight.

As I've said though, it's fine providing we don't sign him permanently and we buy a competent backup for when he misses 50% of the season.

Thanks for the compliment…
If the internet is right then there’s no future for the game obviously…….
just think of every person who plays football every Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning….they obviously don’t go out drinking after the game……because a lot of them go on playing into their late 30’s & early 40’s….and that’s every weekend….!
Oh hang on…this has been going on since the game began…..and I’ve never heard of a player at any level just falling to bits because they drink alcohol……
On personal note I hope we sign him no matter what….

Hes obviously drinking excessive by pro athlete standards. Which you would imagine will cost him by pro athlete standards

Hes just probably not someone we should be making our biggest earner for the next 3 or 4 years

I don't think anyone is suggesting we should be signing him on a contract like that, simply due to his age. He still walks into our team as the best player in the squad, perhaps bar JP.

If we'd qualified for Europe I'd have liked to see him get another year or so. As things next season will be a mid-table battle and a half-arsed attempt at the cups I'd like to see us let him go and put a pit of pressure on the recruitment team to pull their fingers out.

If we sign him its going to be as our biggest earner for at least 3 years. Hes on 300k a week at city hes got a year left. Hes going to want at least 150k a week. Its not so bad without a transfer fee but im not sure I want to us to pay for him too

There is levels. Hes an elite athlete. He probably shouldn't be falling asleep drunk in public.

Wasn't it pickfords missis 30th birthday abroad?

Id say it's fine tbh, it hasn't affected him on the pitch.

Most players prob do the same but don't have cunts from The Sun lurking in bushes near them.
