Rinse repeat.
So the second goal was his fault as well????

Enzo strike was immaculate. The camera angle from above shows Jordan was cheating a tiny bit to his near post, probably worried about Messi, but even if he was positioned a little better he still doesnt save that. Have to credit the strike.

If there must be a finger pointed, I would ask how Enzo is alone and allowed to shoot.

I don't think enough has been made of how this ball moves weirdly through the air, but it's caught out multiple keepers.

Just don't really think Pickford has much blame for the goal tbh. The defensive line was so deep no one was anywhere near the player when he receives it, and despite Bellingham's best effort to close down it was too late. After that it's traveling through players and swerving away from the keeper.
Agreed. The same player had a shot from that range a couple of minutes prior, so we knew he’d be having a pop and still they didn’t close him down.

Shit to let someone have a free pop at the keeper, when it’s your job to protect him from that and then complain when they score.

Yeah it wasn’t like it was the 6th time they’d tried that corner routine

Mexico probably gave Tuchel a false sense that that sort of defensive approach was actually effective.

Mexico didn’t really have any ideas, guile in possession, or players with a reliable shot from distance though.

Fully rests on Tuchel not getting the tactics right.

All the top, successful clubs have been favouring big units in goal that dominate the whole area for a good few years. Maybe that is why Pickford has never had a move to a bigger club.
The stay on the line type that rely on reflexes and shot stopping are a bit of a throwback.

Most maybe, not all. David Raya is actually smaller than Pickford at 6’

It's hard to say if he could even see it early enough to react properly with all the bodies in the way. Yet another problem with sitting so deep.

The amount of space they had for that shot was ridiculous though from almost right at the top of the box. Looking at it back, Anderson left that space for no reason really just to add another body near Messi and then nobody else came out to cover in time.

The amount of players in and around the penalty area doing nothing before they scored the equaliser was criminal. Bellingham was the only one who even tried to make a challenge and even he was too late

It looked disorganised and chaotic, as if nobody knew their place - demoralising for a goalie
