Most sequels are a bit disappointing (Godfather Part 2 not included).
Howard Kendall was a fairly good example of a disappointing return x 2.
I don't see Moyes (or even more so Mourinho) as progressive appointments.
If it is Moyes it's all a bit short sighted, uninspiring and not a great start for TFG.

It might be a dark unpredictable sequel with twists and turns aka Empire Strikes Back

It's not even that he's bad, he's a good manager but it's just so unimaginative. He'll do a good job for a bit and it's probably the time were most wouldn't hate him but we'll plateaux again
I wonder if they'll get a hologram of Kenwright next to him at the unveiling!?

Think we have to be realistic about what we can and can't do at this point. Right down the bottom of the league, probably still not great financially, rubbish squad and lacking in numbers come next season.
No one is massively excited by moyes but we probably do need to go safety first.

For all “Moyes is great at finding players”
Isn’t his record of signing decent strikers completely dogshit?
At least Antonio is injured…

I honestly don't think it's that safe. It's unambitious and a repetition on the narrative that's resulted in where we are, this reads 'new ownership, same lack of ideas'

I could stomach a Moyes/Carsley combo.

Bobble saying moyes having talks on Friday.
So, incredibly underwhelmed.
Moyes taking us to the new ground. Yay.

I just dont understand why as a club we wont look outside the box.

I think fear of relegation is the big motivator, especially this season of all seasons.
Ideally, I think they wanted Dyche to steer it to the end of the season and then project reset would kick in with a more progressive appointment but he's completely bottled it, so they might feel like they need a ''safe pair of hands'' type appointment.
I don't think Moyes is anyone's ideal choice.

I don't think it's a terrible appointment, but I kind of hoped we'd moved on from always looking to the past under our new ownership.
I'm trying to be objective and think how I'd be viewing this if we were getting someone with Moyes record, but not his history. Honestly I think I'd be pretty undewhelmed regardless of the going back to the past element - I really hoped we'd be doing something more progressive. Obvious caveat is that staying up is the priority now and we shouldn't be gambling, but I'm not convinced this isn't a gamble anyway. And if it goes tits up it's going to be horrific.

Dyche would have taken us to the new ground probably relegated, he was completely done, now we surely have more of a chance.

Massively disappointed in TFG if this is true, sceptical about them from the off, and this is a massive own goal imo

I've seen how that one ends. We're staring relegation in the face, Pickford has been frozen in that magic spray stuff and shipped off to the Geordies and the movie ends with DCL and Seamus looking out a big window in the physio room in Finch Farm.
