In an age where everything is about data and statistics in football, it's baffling that something like that can be left to feeling. I know you can talk about training penalties but every manager and player in the world says that the situation in real play is completely different.

Garner, Tarkowski and Pickford should all be on penalties before him in that situation.
That’s the learning point !

Just watched it. Its not what I expected at all. Was expecting some daft self-indulgent flick or tap. It's actually not that bad...it's just a really poor penalty. He's trying to get it in the corner and gets nowhere near.
Expected to be really angry with him but for me it's a regular really bad penalty.

Surprised pickford wasn't higher up the list. Do I need to watch gueyes too?? Seems mad that anyone thought he could shoot

yep, shouldn't have been allowed to take one before Garner, Pickford or even Tarks.

Think it’s madness to suggest a keeper taking a pen over an outfield player.

Why? Pickford has more technical ability than 80% of our players

Apparently pickford was next up in the euros final. Sure I've read that he's good at them

He was taking a pen because he's one of our better players, he's obviously been bagging in training, and he's a big personality.

He made the wrong choice for me, but I'd have him first on the team sheet every week. Maybe after DCL and Pickford!

Joe Hart was a regular penalty taker and statistically better than a lot of his outfield players.

Good to see they are hyping him up. Will get more clubs interested in him and his price to only go up. If someone like Lavia went for 55m, I definitely expect Onana to go above 70-75m at the least.

If you can get basket case clubs like Man U involved in the bidding, you're onto a certain winner financially.

Pickford took England's 5th penalty in the Nations League shootout a few years back.

Penalty taking is definitely a skill but dont see it as one that is restricted to outfield players at all.

Everyone at the club practices pens in training and if the keeper's one of the better takers, and you're happy with his ability to handle pressure, then he's definitely in the mix to take one. Don't see any issue with that.

Pickford strikes such a sweet ball, that I imagine it's very hard to save unless you get lucky and it just hits you where you happen to be stood/diving.
