Think it’d be worth a try myself

Attacking wise he's decent with a good cross. If defence is his weakness then play his strengths and at least he'll understand the RB position to help cover it. Garner can play there better than midfield imo

Thought it was a decent little cameo, didn't have much to do defensively and the one time he did he won the ball back and cleared it. Two or three good crosses too and you think if him and Lindstrom got games together they could build up a bit of an understanding.
Probably back to third choice next week once Coleman's fit though.

Even if he's shite he's quick and shite which is better than what we have. Baffles me he isn't at least getting sub minutes given how shit we are at full back

He showed his signs, but he had the freedom to do so. Forest had the game wrapped up and just sat deep so he could get forward, so it's hard to read too much into it. What he did do going forward was decent, but I expect Dyche will put more on the bit where he fucked up as last man that nearly cost a goal

Wide right: Harrison, no; Lindstrom, no; Patto, in

Yeah did well i thought.
Put young at LB, Patterson at RB and Lindstrom in place of Harrison.

Think it just makes a massive difference having a player who’s willing to run beyond in that position.
Young can’t do that, which makes even more sense to put him at left back as he can just sit deep and offer some quality playing out.
If you’re worried about the space your wing back will leave then sit Gana there to cover. It’s basic stuff.

It was nice to watch a natural attacking fullback for a bit.
You need at least one when you cross as much as we do.

Think he's got the perfect manager for him there. Remember how ropey Coleman was in that position despite his obvious attacking talent? Moyes couldn't have dealt with his development any better and I think he'll give Patterson every opportunity to become good enough to start RB for us.

I remember Coleman playing on the wing for a little bit when he first joined.
I remember Baines not getting a game at first either actually.

Maybe Patterson fills the Lahm position in midfield.
