He wasn’t great yesterday but not many were. Not many hit the heady heights of average tbf.

He’s got some miles on the clock this season, next season is about coaching. What can he learn? How can he improve his game on the ball?

With the confidence from this season, if he’s also coachable and can develop that side, he’ll be a midfield dynamo.

When does he turn 24?

Hold on, what are you saying here?

That he turns 24 not this June but the following?

So that makes him mid 20s?

By that logic he turn 32 in 2035 so he's early 30s 🤣

No I think he’s currently 22, I thought he was 24.

Lots to work with. I just don't think we have the management structure and patience to do it with him. Or many of the younger players it looks like.

The issue is he doesn't have a baller next to him. All our midfielders seem to do a variant of the same thing and the ones that don't (KDH) aren't really up the level of baller either.

I’d sell them all and pay Bernardo Silva £500k a week for two seasons just to see someone control and pass the ball

But obviously, he doesn’t turn 24 until next year.

We just need a proper ball player to balance the midfield.

Garner and Iroegbunam have already shown PL quality, Röhl and Armstrong look likely to get to that level as well.

The problem is that they’re all varying degrees of all-action midfielders who put a lot of work in and use the ball simply. Garner has shown a bit more at times but not enough to suggest he can run the game with the ball at his feet.

Add that one player plus a couple of new fullbacks and every other aspect of the squad starts looking a lot better.

Fail to get those three players in and we’re in for more of the same inconsistency.

Teams a lot better and smarter than us will be looking at getting potentially the best deal of the summer by tempting us with £20m for this lad.

Not for sale, please.

I’d sell garner before I sold Tim.

Im not sure theres a better player in the league at making as a last ditch tackle to make up for the fact he was initially so far out of position the opposition exploited this to cut through us.

Bite their hand off at 20m

Yeah unfortunately it feels like if we sold him it'd be a cut price deal rather than £35m+ which is probably about right for his potential.

I think he's got a very high ceiling but also our midfield is so open when he plays that I could easily see Moyes selling him instead of giving him the time he needs to develop the weaker areas of his game.
