He can be pretty good and justify his place in the Everton 1st team, but not be England class. Thats an acceptable outcome. Its nice for him to be talked about in those circles, but I dont see him offering much that England dont have already really. I'd be pleased if he got a cap, bit like Ozzie got a cap and I was probably more made up for ozzie, than any other player. But caps are not house points and I honestly dont see England needing to include Garner in their world cup plans.

All that fbref link showed was a defensive midfielder with really good defensive metrics and bumbling around the 50th percentile for everything else. Pretty much what we all see every week... Doesn't surprise that's for sure.

Reliable 6-7 a week, every week kind of player. Not sure he has any levels to really go to above this, but small incremental improvements would make him at least post better numbers over time. He's fine, don't think we need to be looking at his role as a priority for a new signing, eventually we'll upgrade but no rush.

Yes…if Henderson and cross can get a look in why can’t he ? Is my point….

Wharton and Anderson are miles better. Henderson isn't in the squad on football ability. Scott/Garner are much of a muchness for me.

Don't rate Garner highly but not outrageous to say he should be on the periphery of the England squad.

I like Wharton very much would love a player like him in our team….anderson had a very good season least term which earned him his spot in the squad…..imo not so much this season ( he’s gonna have a worldly now against us isn’t he )….i just think he deserves a mention been very good virtually every game so far this season for us….scott got a look in as he was playing in a…..at the time good side…Garner playing well in an (slightly above when at full strength)average side….

Wharton and Anderson absolutely miles better than Garner, be at one of the top clubs in the summer.

So will garner if rumours are anything to go by
