Think it sends a really awful message. Sure whoever went instead might not get a single minute but to lose a place you deserve because someone is a good lad seems ridiculous

On that basis he could be in every England squad til he dies

Need to remember the squads are larger these days than just a few tournaments ago, so you take I think 3 more players as a result. Really don't see why people have such an issue with it tbh, literally doesn't make any difference if they're going instead of someone who wouldn't even play.

I just dislike the "Let's all forget about the Saudi thing" with Henderson tbh.

And yet, stick 3 keepers on the bench and we want some Academy lads there instead as they might as well get the experience of being with the first team, even though there’s no chance they’d be used. Doesn’t that work for building your future internationals?

I think there's a valid argument for both sides, but having a leader off the field there probably gives more benefit in the immediate rather than the future, and Tuchel isn't really going to worry about what happens down the line too much

If you employ someone like Tuchel it's to try and get success now, and he'll pick what he believes will give him the best chance of achieving that.

You want to build for the future you give Carsley the job full time, but we haven't, so you kind of have to accept what comes with that.

It doesnt make a difference to us. Its about fairness though. Someone deserved that position on footballing ability. Someone deserved that experience

But that doesn't matter to Tuchel, being fair is hardly the mentality of a serial winner and nor should it be.

When the game (world cup) is so heavily mental I can understand the reasoning, but I cant believe that there isn't someone else with the same team-focus, work ethic and mental strength that isn't better than Jordan Henderson. What does that say about all the other players and potential alternatives?

Unless by slim chance we meet you in the knockouts, and then by all means - great choice!

we must as england have the most dullest boring average bench in the whole world cup
how can this get fans excited?
compare other teams benches to ours
just wish we could have fitted in palmer - foden - morgan gibbs white knowing one of these lads would be coming on and adding that extra brilliant instinct they have that wins games
meanwhile henderson - dan burn ......... wow cant wait

I mean sure, we could also bring on

Rashford, Rogers, Eze, Madueke, Watkins
