I'll be honest, when they said "go big", I expected more than 70 mil as the number. That might buy you two players of any proven quality these days.

£70m isn’t going to do much is it
Especially when at the moment we have 6* contracts running out at the end of the season.
Keane
Coleman
Gana
Grealish - loan end
Mykolenko
*Röhl - but we have to buy him anyway (is that money accounted for already?)

If that's purely transfer fees it's pretty decent because we won't be paying outright for players.
£25m player paid over the length of a 5 year contract = £5m, so we'd be able to sign 14 players if they all cost that amount.
Just depends on what that £70m includes and if it's even correct. Plus any sales we make will add to the wiggle room substantially.

We cant spend £100m+ every year else we'll just end up in PSR hell again.

That's 350m over 5 years. We are not spending 350m

Yep totally get that, but my point was mainly a £70m budget isn't small, because we don't pay transfer fees in full at the point of purchase.
I'm in no way advocating we spent £350m over 5 years nor that we should sign 14 players.

Why wouldn’t we spend £350m over five years?
Fully expecting us to spend that over five years, if not more.

If we don't we aren't going anywhere fast.
Villa spent about 600m to get where they are. Forest the same. Newcastle more.
If we've got three windows to spend I went £100m+ in each or we are simply not serious.

No 350m now which would be 70m a year spread over 5 year contracts.

Because that's just on this year's acquisitions and we'd have nothing to spend for additional purchases in the remaining 4 years.

We’d be selling Ndiaye for £100m, Branthwaite for £80m and Garner for £50m though right? So £350m is almost just breaking even
