It’s very obvious that the midfielders aren’t coming short when we changed Jared out just long hopeful balls to an isolated striker

Defensively we were shocking as we shouldn’t have leaked 3 goals. However there were some big positives from the game and the first half should have seen us score 2 or 3.

Dibling was really good in the first half. It was the first time where I thought he looked value for the money we have paid. Took his man on and made things happen. His best game in an Everton shirt so far.

Alcaraz had a lot of ball and chances to do damage but just failed on each opportunity in the first half. He had chances in front of goal and then also possession running onto their back line. There is no real end product from him and he doesn’t have that finishing instinct.

Rohl was excellent. Full of running and quality. Him and Dibling looked good down the right.

Overall a very poor result but some positives to be taken.

Where are we up to on the flapometer?

I was a zero as waiting for preseason to be over and the window to close but it’s all too familiar - seeing us unable to score, conceding soft goals, O’Brien at RB, Keane at CB, Myko looking like he’s shot to fuck…if one of the best LB’s we’ve ever had, now a coach, can’t get more than this out of him we’re in trouble.

So up to a 2, maybe 3 for me now.

That was the biggest cause for our drop off, his running gave us an outlet and pulled us up the pitch, kdh and ndaiye both came in looking for the ball.

Ndiaye looks uninterested and just waiting for a call from his agent.

The result couldn't matter less to me tbh. I'm not bothered we lost 3-1, and wouldn't be bothered if we won 3-1. Was the same with the Hamburg win last week. Result was largely irrelevant.

Just looking for combinations, young players developing, different options off the bench and hoping everyone gets through pre-season without injuries. Are we creating chances? Yes. Are there areas of the team and individual players who are wildly frustrating? Yes.

Mainly, I'm just pleased we've had a full pre-season programme against good opposition. Some of our pre-seasons in previous years have been laughably badly organised.

I think we should be in good shape to start the season, and looking forward to adding Pickford, a fully fit Ndiaye, Norgaard, eventually Garner and hopefully a RB into the team.

Until we get a proper finisher, we'll struggle. Those 2 couldn't finish a meal between them

More minutes into the legs - great!

The worry for me is there aren't any signs things have changed from the last seven games of last season, still a spill over into pre season, basic defensive errors, goals being gifted because the basics are still lacking and no one has addressed them.

Yeah it's pre season but the signs aren't encouraging.

It'll be no surprise if Mateta plunders in a double on the opening day to break that hoodoo we have over them.

It feels like we're at a bit of an impasse where I think the majority of fans now want Moyes out, we know we're going to be bored shitless at the start of the season, JOB will start at right back, we will lose at home to Palace, there will be boos at half time and then it's like a waiting game until the board relieve him off his duties. It feels inevitable, which isn't going to help the atmosphere at all

No spark, it's like drinking a flat Cola. What's the point.
Confidence plays a massive part and where now onto 2 wins from 12 games, the only competitive win coming against Hamburg.

Agree on Moyes. Club should have relieved him of his duties soon after Spurs. It's typical Everton though, weak in it's decision making.

I'll be totally honest, i'm dreading the start of the season.
The chance of picking up where we left off last season is more than a possibility.
The thought of watching Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko and McNeil, not to mention O'Brien at right back for another season makes me want to vomit.
Add in Moyes and his negative anti football and it's soul destroying.
Unless something happens in the window in the next couple of weeks we are in real trouble
