only one nil to the scots - this may comeback to prevent the scots from progressing
morocco and brazil are likely to score more v haiti
GD could well impact scotlands progress to the group stages
one nil may well be not enough :ugeek:

Fun fact: The last Scotland player to score a winning goal in a World Cup match was Stuart McCall against Sweden in 1990, at that time he was an Everton player.

I’d say three points with a minus one goal difference is what you’re looking to achieve.

Haiti are better than people think so it’s not as easy as saying Scotland should have just tried to score more, although they definitely should have been more progressive.

Two 1-0 defeats could be good enough to get them through.

One draw and they’re through.

We might be shite at football but we can belt out an anthem.

No idea how many Scots were in the stadium, must have been 50k+

Think I'm starting to get in to this world cup a bit now.

Watched Brazil Vs Morocco this morning on catch up, then highlights of Australia Vs Turkey and Scotland Vs Haiti.

Although I hate the kick off times it's actually quite nice to wake up and have loads of footy to watch and catch up on.

Watching the Australia vs Turkey game delayed. I don’t think I’d paid attention but I was realizing when a corner came in that it but feels like we’ve not seen all the grappling that’s been plaguing the PL corners at the WC?

Maybe England will ruin that but it’s been a nice reset so far.

Also we should probably just sign that Irankunda kid for the Cahill corner flag celebration homage. We could use a bit of true pace out wide too.

Goosebumps watching that. Second favourite anthem after my own. Shame Wales and Scotland weren’t there together and playing each other. The Seppos wouldn’t know what hit them with the passion from the two anthems

Been the moment of the world cup for me. Reminded me why I love international tournaments and really brought the joy back to the world cup.

Shame the fixtures today seem a bit lopsided perhaps. Netherlands vs Japan could be a good one though.

Spotted in Dumfries this morning! Someone's over done the Tennent's. 😂

Wasn’t expecting that.

Good for Scotland, but I thought they were terrible. Steve Clarke is holding them back so much.

I think they’re going to hope the worst case scenario in the next two games is a 1-0 defeat and hope that’s enough.
Can’t argue it wasn’t a disappointing performance but I also think we can’t overstate how much we need to play above our level to get out of this group, even with the expanded format.

We couldn’t afford to lose any of our better players and we lost Gilmour pre tournament. We don’t have the margins to absorb that.

Also context, that was our 5th World Cup win in Scotlands history.

Given the pressure the lads were under to win the game as everyone said they would and must, I’m going to accept the industrial performance so long as the result came, which it did.

Looking forward to first minnows getting a pummeling at the hands of a powerhouse and the ensuing debate about whether they should be there

yeah they have to at least get a point out of the last 2 games - that would be ok - but who knows
love the WC and its tensions and brilliant crowds and atmosphere
