I have never hated a club more than I hate United right now. I wish upon them 1000 years of failure

I'd rather take the points penalty than sell him £35m less than he's worth.

They are being silly. It's all very well claiming they are being sensible with money now and won't be taken for a ride but the market is what the market is. They can't change that. People just won't deal with them if they aren't going to pay market value

Also even if we are desperate for money 35m would just bring out loads of other teams. They might be the only 1s interested when everyone thinks we want 70m plus but if it turned out we were desperate others would become involved and still drive it up well beyond 35m

Really they need to be told not to come back unless it's significantly more because at the prices they are offering this is all just a big waste of time

Increase the price by £5m with every bid.

We should just say we're happy to beat another points deduction and won't be held to ransom

Would probably only be another 2 points. We aren't giving away 20-30m plus and losing a player who'll win us plenty more points than 2 to avoid a 2 point loss.

If that’s serious, then that is a fucking insult. It’s beyond derisory.

It’s like when you are selling your car for £8k and someone comes along and offers £3k.

I would genuinely tell them where to go and don’t come back with anything less than £80m as an opening offer.

I wouldn’t tell them anything, just ignore it.

If I were the player and they offered that, I'd start to wonder if they're actually serious about buying me.

£35m boils my piss for a number of reasons. It's a fucking derisory offer for a player they supposedly covet. They're trying to exploit our penury by low-balling us for less than half the mooted asking price. And it's all deemed fair game because of a system created by the Premier League, where we can't realise the true value of our biggest assets, so perpetuating the cycle year after year.

I'd just refuse to engage with them any further. Take your £35m and put it towards educating your players not to assault women.

Yeah I'm not sure you can really unsettle a player by bidding half his value. Think the player has to believe the club are being unfair. Big clubs have lots of advantages but i don't think anyone believes they are entitled to 50% off. Not even the players who's interests deals like that would suit

Just tell them they’re taking the piss and every bid they make below £70 million the price increases by £5m. Pay up or fuck off

This gives me hope that he might be here next season then. If they’re coming in at £35m then it suggests to me they’re prepared to walk away if they can’t get a cheap deal. For us, I hope and have faith that Thelwell and people at the club understand that a points deduction is much better than accepting low ball offers for JB
