I love the way any player we are rumoured to be after on here is…..crap…not what we need….on too much wages or costs too much….so get loan players who in the main….with the odd exception….are basically either can’t get in their own clubs first team or are not required by their club…..
But same people moan about the standard of current players we have not being good enough……
So by their logic let’s not get anyone in eh? because either way for 1 reason or another they won’t be good enough…..
Confused ? I am….
So because we are crap we should buy crap or overpriced?

To be clear im not against signing players. Im against expensive short term deals who have little chance of becoming sensible long term deals. Be delighted with a couple of loans with options to buy but even that wouldn't be sensible with white because hes a centre half really and on a lot of money
I dont think we are likely enough to achieve anything to be spending money on only the short term

Thing with white is he's a good age and can play centre back and right back. It's a move away from Tarkowski and Keane playing together.

If we sold Beto for £15m, signed Callum Wilson on a free until the end of the season, and as a result had money to spend on a decent RB then that's the kind of business I'd be happy with us making.
*Not that there's any links of anyone in for Beto

Who said buy crap? By your logic expensive players are crap….so buy cheap players or loan players….coz they’re the best
works for other teams to pay the going rate for the better players….how much has semenyo just gone for ? He must be crap over priced and high wages…..
Why aren’t you working as a scout or in a recruitment team for a club….you seem to think your good at it…..

You said people were saying they weren't good enough or 2 expensive. So people want players that are good enough and reasonably priced
Ben white is on 150k a week apparently that was the going rate as an arsenal first teamer. Its not the going rate for him now. If we take rejects from top teams you take them on the going rate when they were on the up not at their current level.
Its really a mystery that people dont want poor players or overpriced 1s. You dont either. We just might disagree who them players are

And semenyo is an awful example. He had a release clause. Hes a player on the up not down. Hes a player we have zero chance attracting.
Would love fo sign semenyo now. If he flops at city though im not really in favour of us paying him what city thought he was worth before he flopped

Glad we didn’t sign Semenyo for £10m for Bristol Ciry
City, he’d have been hounded out for being shite scoring 3 goals in his first 8 months

Spot on if they play poor in the first few games the shite starts waste of money etc it’s sad really we tried the buying expensive proven players and now we are mixing it up young players need time the likes of Barry and dibling will be quality in time

People always reference Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth as a way for us to do business but forget a lot of the signings these teams make take a lot of time to perform in the premier league.

Buying a young striker and expecting him to bare the brunt of the workload from day one is bad business whether it's Semenyo or Barry.
If we insist on continuing with this model the identity of the young striker is largely irrelevant.

Feel like a player as part of a deal rarely comes off.

I can’t remember any player swap type of deals being done in recent times, the latest I can remember is Barcelona bringing in Zlatan in exchange for Eto’o plus £40m. That was over 15 years ago though.
If true though then hopefully Lewis Ferguson can convince Patterson he has more chance to be a success there.
