In fairness to Alcaraz he got 5g+a in 7 starts and 9 sub appearances, which is a good base to build from.

He gets me excited because he's going for goal. Raw, but could be good for us

He'll be like a new signing.

What is the club thinking? A two year deal? Negates any benefit of signing him on the cheap. If he has a great year we can’t command a super high fee since he will only have a year left. If he continues to improve over two years we will lose him on a free.
Negligent and an awful start to the Angus era.

Surely there’s a club option to trigger an extension?
Would be crazy to pay for a player of his age on a two year deal otherwise

Not sure what you can do if the player and his agent say not more than two years.?

Assume we're letting him have some time off for Roland Garros and Wimbledon

This is his 5th club at the age of 22.
His agents obviously like moving him about which is common with South Americans.

Shame it's a short contract but at the price we still can't complain. If in 12 months he won't sign another contract just sell him for whatever profit we can get. We will still make money on him

Makes sense. He will earn his five year deal with us. Can give him 18 months to prove himself.

A 2 year deal is shite for amortisation, too.
Perplexing, tbh.
