Personally, I will be so gutted if (when) he leaves. For me, it’s up there with Rooney and Arteta leaving. I didn’t feel the same way about Stones, although I admired him as a footballer.

I think he is a tremendous talent and not only that, seems really decent and down to earth. But the fact that he also displays incredible confidence in his ability at such a young age makes him a real star in the making.

I am concerned about where he ends up because I do want him to play at the very top level. Not sure United is currently the right place for him, but I am sure that he would enjoy the limelight and thrive there if they do sign him.

Tapped up *cough*
Yeah, not a done deal like it was being reported last night. I'm sure he will go like but you never know, Man United might walk away and we sell Onana in the meantime (although that seems unlikely with him at the Euros).

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, with the Merseysiders valuing the 21-year-old at at least £80m.

United intend to speak to Everton about Branthwaite after the transfer window opened on Friday.

The response is likely to be frosty.

BBC Sport has been told Everton do not want to sell Branthwaite, whom many believe was unlucky to miss out on selection for England's European Championship squad.

The club believe it is just a matter of time before Branthwaite becomes an England regular and rate him in the same bracket as Harry Maguire and Josko Gvardiol.

Maguire cost United £80m when he joined from Leicester in 2019. Gvardiol cost Manchester City £77m when he moved from RB Leipzig last summer.

Not too arsed I suppose, it is indicative of the inequality of the system but tbh Asda could buy him to work in the stockroom for all I care as long as we get the money.

It's a good move for him if Utd continue to buy players like him rather than wasting similar amounts on Casimiro.

I'm not too bothered, my days of getting all misty eyed when players leave are long gone, disappointed maybe but it's part and parcel of football now. It's been clear right from the start that the lad has all the qualities to go right to the top and he was just passing through, we paid around £750k for him so if we get anything like £80m for him it's been a fantastic investment and good luck to him.

Yeah, it's dissapointing like but it's always been the way, the top clubs will always poach from the smaller teams.

We where once part of that bracket or clubs, sadly.

It appears we can get a maximum 1 full season out of any good quality young player before somebody higher up the food chain snaps them up.

Let’s hope we invest the money well. Jarrad I think will be very hard to replace, really hoped we’d get more than a full season out of him but that’s the game for you.

That was what really helped the partnership last season, the fact that he was left footed, made it so much better, they looked so balanced together him and Tarks.

I can't get too upset about this, it's part of the game and we all knew he'd be off at the end of the season if a good enough offer came in. I really hope we get some money to replace him + one or two others.

And while I'd rather he didn't go to United, I can understand why he would go. Two trophies in the last two years and Kobie Mainoo in the England squad with half a season of experience in midfield. As much as I think Mainoo is a good player, Branthwaite is more ready for England and should be starting ahead of Lewis Dunk. And he would be if he played for United.

I hope we don’t. It’s about time we stopped selling at a price that’s attractive to the buyer. We should be screwing over buyers just like every other club when they sell.
