Whatever we get (hopefully a bit more than £70m) it's all PSR profit and keeps the wolves from the door. We can't get too emotional or sentimental about players like this leaving for enormous fees to progress their careers.

He's been great, I think he can make the step up, but it's not guaranteed, and even £70m is a whopping fee for a guy with only one full season at the top level (plus some time in Holland on loan).

Just hope it all gets done quickly so we can move on and start looking ahead.

Is shite isn't it. No matter how long they're shit for, no matter how many wrong turns they make, they can just go and buy our best young player and go again. And why wouldn't they.

I hope we stand our ground and make sure they pay the money though. This is a club who have been rinsed senseless by loads of other clubs. The Maguire fee. They could've signed Antony for £40m and ending up buying him for £86m when they got desperate

Depends who caves first, doesn't it? Risky obviously but if there's an indication we simply won't sell (as boneheaded as that would be) then they know their chances of getting Branthwaite for £70m after June is none-existent.
