It's also okay to be disappointed by Barry.
Lots of clubs sign young players who play good.

Although, white do we think Dibling isn't given the same treatment do we reckon?

Because we have Ndiaye and Grealish
Whereas the other striker is Beto

I think there's an assumption dibbling will be really good at some point. We need a competent striker now. We dodnt desperately need dibbling to contribute now
Personally I think we massively overpaid for dibbling and we rushed into signing him when we should have waited

Not sure we rushed.. it took ages, it dragged on quite a while and its reported that we held on for a reasonable price.

I meant this window. Big money, player who's contract was running out, player we didnt need in the short term, player there wasn't much interest in from elsewhere

Fully expected everything I’ve seen of Barry.
Aznou has played thirteen senior games, what else was you expecting?
Dibling hasn’t had much of a chance.
This is the process of signing younger players.
I keep saying the fanbase doesn’t have the patience and the club doesn’t create the right environment for young players to succeed. Would love to be proved wrong on this but unfortunately don’t see it.
The fans haven’t got a clue how to deal with these players.
Not so bothered about the first point on the fanbase as I am your second point about creating the right environment for them to succeed.
I agree with both and both are true, but the way to fix both is by fixing the second one. We start bringing younger players to their potential and start bringing them into the first team with any sort of success and the fans will start finding patience.
Like what the fuck have they been doing at Chelsea for years? Is it a big secret? Is it all behind closed doors? We need to learn and copy from the teams who are good at this. We’re a big enough club to implement any required structure to facilitate this. And the financial benefits alone should be having us making this one of our top priorities.

Not as exposed as much as in midfield he has players around him.
Not as much pressure on that position as a CF who needs to score goals.
Is actually not too bad, although not producing too much yet, as has Prem experience.
Is not the focal point of the entire team.
Is part of a functional system for his position whereas the way we play to the CFs at the moment does not set them up for success.
Isn’t having 50yarders pinged at his face with two groks sat on his shoulders.
I guess there’s multiple reasons white he doesn’t get the same scrutiny or treatment as TB.

Has done absolutely fuck all, looked miles off, and we're all saying that's ok he'll be great.
Barry has been written off and replaced in most people's minds by Beto who is not here long term or 30 year old players on loan to help us fight for tenth.
1. Position
2. Expectation
3. Skin colour

I think with hindsight they were both stupid signings that never should have been made. I didnt even need hindsight in regards to dibbling.
We've spent about 4/5 of our money on players who can't get in our first 11. That's incredibly inept given when had some really pressing issues in our first 11. Barry is getting judged because hes losing to beto who we have to watch. Dibbling isn't because hes losing to grealish who we are happy to watch. Both signings shouldn't have been made though

I don’t disagree with your assessment. I’m just saying that the reasoning for less criticism is more nuanced than racial bias.
Maybe that’s my own subconscious bias of not wanting it to be a big issue for Everton fans, because I am one. And by and large I don’t think we have more idiots than any other fan base.

I'm saying they both need to and can improve a lot.
Yes, it is trickier to develop as a striker when your team plays 1 up top but I have faith in them coming good if we don't fuck it up. Unfortunately we do tend to fuck it up a lot when it comes to developing young players so that's a big if.

Racism and racialised descriptions/assessment/judgment of players is sadly also very real.
