Would be a perfect loan.

He’s no Bobby Latchford…. 😜

(Jesus, I mean, not Barry)

Talk of him getting a run of 5-6 games seems to be highly unlikely given that first half. We can’t afford to carry a performance like that, although he was certainly not the only one.

A shame for him the way that went. Needs to build back up with some positive substitute appearances.

Hes awful. We've spent 30m on a striker who needs a loan to a championship club.

I flip between the 2 each week.

Beto was abysmal against West ham.

So annoying.

Maybe a mad shout but I don’t care.

I’m still starting him and letting him work it out.

Second half Beto is our best CF right now. Can’t be bothered with the ball rocketing off the shins of the first half version.

Ndiaye or Alcaraz or whoever else isn’t the answer either, you dull what they do well by asking them to receive the ball with their back to goal too often.

You might be right, patience is what you need to do with a young player but that was pretty painful to watch first half with Barry. Just looked so off it and that can't help his confidence to be dragged at half time either. The small breakaway on the halfway line where he basically gave the ball back to the defender made him look his age.

I don't think we can play him on current form. He just doesn't contribute and that's not good for his development either

Brentford are willing to pay Villarreal £26m for 21-year-old Cameroon striker Etta Eyong.

He'll be the good one. Got to factor in our recruitment team, because what did they see in Barry?

To be fair, whilst he's been poor so far, he came here with all sorts of graphs and stats that the hipsters love to back it up.

I said it earlier on but he has the body language and attitude that he just doesn't want to be here.

Almost like he himself didn't want the move to happen, just that it benefitted his agent and Villereal a lot more.

Time will tell but not a great start.

That first half performance was as bad as he has been here. I know the team in general had a stinker but for example that 2 on 1 opportunity he had with Ndiaye was something you see in schoolboy football. I struggle to see what his thought process was there.

Just looked so far off it today. Still think you have to persist, Beto is better off the bench anyways.

We can't just persist in throwing away half of every game.

He looks poor, really poor. He just doesn’t look like a player, from his build to his body language, still early days, but everything sways to him being a dud.

I think the weight of expectations are massive, and it feels like he is feeling the pressure. In his first couple of appearances, he was creating space for others and making some great runs, now it feels like he is so low in confidence that he isn't even able to do that.

The reality is that he was probably bought for the future, and not for the now. Sadly, we need someone who is ready now.
