Just saw that interview he did where he was banging on about how much of a Liverpool fan he was then I was almost floored at him gushing saying how caught up in the moment he was when you’ll never walk alone was playing.
Ah fuck him then... i'll go and defend Tim in the Iroegbunam thread instead.

Which interview did you watch ? I just watched the only one I could find on YouTube, he is asked about divided family loyalties and says his Dad was a Liverpool fan, his Grandad an Everton fan and his auntie a United fan,no mention of him being red nor any reference to YNWA ?

Doesn't bother me in the slightest this kid of thing, it bears no reflection on how hard they try or their commitment to their profession.
My kid is a Newcastle supporter, went to a Sunderland footy camp this week, impressed and has been asked to start attending their development sessions. He'd love to be a professional footballer, who he supports goes out the window if and when the opportunity to play professionally one day comes along.

That’s fine but you don’t go on a podcast and say that hearing you’ll never walk alone got him all caught up in the moment and only snapped out of it when Young was sent off. It’s a sensible move to try and keep the fans onside

I’ve never heard or seen the media outlet he was a guest on before so I guess not many people are going to see it. Me posting about it also boils down to me having no time whatsoever for the type of player he is.

Just because you've not heard this is no reason to doubt it.
There's politer ways to ask for somebody to hook you up with the source without sounding like you think they're lying/misinformed/wrong.

Think it was a rhetorical question, dont think he was calling it bs.

Yeah man, I like escalator - he's sound.
But he's a black and white person and sometimes it can come off as a bit abrasive if you're not used to it.
Kudos to you (and it shows you to be a good person) for assuming the best and that it was rhetorical on his behalf.
It probably was. But (and I can be guilty of this) the written word doesn't carry nuance and I would hope feedback is taken in the manner it was intended. Not confrontational, just plainly saying where a response can be taken in the wrong way.

Respect the honesty tbh. The bigger concern is what he said afterwards:
"I have more fear of losing than I have excitement to win. I'd rather not lose than win. I'm scared of losing."
It shows on the pitch. Without sounding harsh, that is exactly what I don't want from an Everton player.
