U21 players ignoring McNeil as an option for a pass because he's a possession black hole, wild

Close to 90m. We've completely fucked up our recruitment again. Signed a load of players who csnt get in our team or make much of an impact off the bench.

Isn’t this what we wanted us to do for years?

Sign young players to improve for the future?

Let’s all just calm down and let them develop at their own pace.

As @TheRam said we all demanded young players for the future and then people start getting pissed off when we do that and they aren't ready to immediately come in....you can't have it both ways.

Someone like Dibbling will be used loads once AFCON comes around, it's a long season and he should be ready by then to contribute in a meaningful way.

Barry will need a year or more, as do loads of young foreign players to adapt, but there's a lot of good attributes there that hopefully we'll see come to the fore once he adapts. We couldn't afford 3x the price for a Waltermade so it is what it is, and we have to give these players the opportunity to grow.

Aznou looks a million miles off, cost about £7m I think? He's probably further away but for the price and the apparent high ceiling it might look a bargain down the line. Might not end up working out too but I don't feel we've dropped a bollock given his low cost and potential.

35m striker who looks leagues below what we require currently. A left back who can't get a game when we haven't got a fit left back other than him. Its reasonable to question if they'll ever be good enough because they've been so poor. I assume the club were expecting more in the short term because if not the team building is even worse.

Dibbling you can be more hopeful on but all that money on a sub when we have gaping holes in our first 11 seems ridiculous

£27m for Barry, not sure why you're adding an extra £8m to what we paid?

Yeah we needed other players alongside what we bought but couldn't afford that so someone would be complaining one way to another... No RB now is crap, no cover when Ndaiye is at AFCON also crap, couldn't cover both so... 🤷

Aznou is super low cost, both transfer fee and wages. Could we have got more for this outlay? Highly unlikely and we didn't have more to spend... One day he might be absolutely amazing, but he's not cover for LB right now which is a problem. Given the money we spent though I don't see how we could get someone who was better than Myko or at best ok backup.

We're a few windows away from this being a competent squad, but hopefully by the time we've constructed that the younger players have bedded in and developed so they're real stars by then.
