More I hear about the charges against us the less sure I am we'll get out of it.
Got us bang to rights and rightly so.
100% and we've seen this coming for a long time... The fact we've been deemed to be sub £20m over is nearly as big a surprise as the 10 point deduction.
However I don't think anyone is expecting us to get out of it, we've even admitted wrong doing, so that's not really the issue here.
The issue is the severity of the penalty and how they've reached that figure.
The issue for me is the talk about this being a punishment specifically for us it’s like paving the way for city and Chelsea and whoever else to get record fines and no points deduction the premier league will want to keep pep and city sweet so a record fine to a super rich club will be their punishment imo
The worst thing about this is that potentially we may not know of our fate until the end of the season. We may be 8 points clear of the relegation zone then they announce the 10 point penalty is withheld or we may be say four points below safety in the relegation zone and they decrease the penalty to maybe say 5 points, in other words the panel will decide whether to relegate us or not.

777Kidnappings, you're doing a huge amount of mental gymnastics here.
What has happened after the the "crime" isn't relevent. You really need to start thinking about this like we conned an old lady out of her savings. If she won the lottery the next day, it doesn't matter.
It also means that the teams las year should be getting to fuck, as we were done for the 3 years prior to that.
I'm with brap2 for the most part. The only thing I'm clinging onto is the whole stadium interest thing.
I'd have died on the hill that youth, infrastructure and stadium were all things that could be removed from p&s calcs.
So seeing they repudiated interest on a loan for a stadium feels very, very harsh to me still.
The lottery win is at our expense. Its like we've compensated that old lady then been told you've got to give her your lottery ticket that has a 50% chance of winning. It's our lottery ticket
Can we all sue brentford cos Ivan toney played for months while they were dealing with his case. Can we sue any team that appeals a red card because it delayed a players suspension.

How so?
We were just under £20m over the threshold for interest on the stadium. That hasn’t changed.
We are guilty and a day of reckoning was always going to come. But the punishment is not justified in any way.
I
Don't know if justified comes into it, and the people who will be deciding if it is justified are the people who handed it down with zero justification in their documentation anyway.
Also we were £20m over, including interest on a loan we *falsely claimed* after the fact was for the stadium. They've decided it isn't for the stadium and we can't prove it was, infact we may have agreed it actually wasn't?

No man, our punishment doesn't in anyway benefit them or make things right for them.
Your Toney point is a good one though. Yes, he scored a goal against us and cost us points. His punishment doesnt reverse that deision. Similar to the rare occasions red cards are appealed - we still played the match with 10 men.
I think all the reasons you are so against this punishment are the reasons a panel would be very harsh to rule against us for everything. But that doesnt mean it shouldnt go before arbitration in the first place.
If we were 17th in the 2021/2022 season i would be really worried. But Leeds finished below us and stayed up. So it's harsh for Burnley to have a case
Last year wasn't under investigation so Leicester can only complain about the time the PL took to prosecute us. It would be very harsh to hold that against us. (Leeds can get to fuck for that year, they would be down regardless)
I think our only real, proper concern is that P&S is a rolling 3 year thing, which means when our books come out in a few months, Leicester will be looking at them very, very closely
I fully accept we have done wrong but the question is what is a proportionate punishment.
If administration gets you a 9 point deduction logic should tell you that a breach of FFP by 20 million might get you 2 or 3 points deducted. 3 even feels a bit heavy handed for what we are guilty of.
If there are no clear agreed guidelines for penalties then it is all just arbitrary and open to all sorts of bias.
I assume and hope that this is where our appeal is centred but I just would not trust them to argue their way out of a paper bag.
Is there a reason the 105m figure has stayed the same from FFP’s inception in 2013? Inflation alone suggests 105m back then is equivalent to 140m now.
It’s wild to think us using the Ukraine war for rising costs wasn’t a mitigating factor, when you take into account inflation putting that figure at 118m in 2021, which then skyrocketed to 129m in 2022.
