If we’re going with dual eights then McNeil could be the left of those too - I don’t get why everyone is assuming Moyes doesn’t like him

I think a quality RW and a half decent RB would transform this team. We have some good players, but unless we fix the right side we'll just be a side that can grind out results without ever really having any way to create problems for the opposition or controlling a game.

I want Grealish here, I think it'd be such a boost to how we play, but he's below the RW and RB priority, and I'd actually use whatever money he'd cost in loan fee and wages to sign a proper RB.

Think right back is a big shame in that o brien is really good at most things but his final ball is terrible. Perfectly understandable because he's a centre half. There's a lot to like at full back but I'm not sure we can put up with them crosses all season

McNeil getting burnt for pace by right wingers would be a horrible sight. He's LWB at best, couldn't have him LB.

They were guessing groin on the stream so could be 4-6 weeks maybe.

Not confirmed though.

So it's looking like the lineup against Leeds will be some variation of:

Pickford

O'Brien Keane Tarkowski Branthwaite

KDH Garner Gana

Alcaraz Barry Ndiaye

Aznou or Coleman potentially at the back instead of Keane, and maybe Beto instead of Barry. Not great. Fierce corner threat though.

Would be very surprised if we started Barry against Leeds.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we played a the four CBs though given our current options and with it being an away game.

Didn't Moyes play McNeil as LB in one game when we were short last season? If so if imagine we'll see him there again.

Is slightly odd how on the outs McNeil seems considering how slick the squad is

In general I’m a fan of McNeil, I think he’s contributed well in his time here but something feels a little off about him at the moment. Doesn’t quite look up to speed for some reason.

Is mcneils one footed stuff just obvious because he’s left footed?

Are right footed players ever accused of being one footed?

Always feels like left footed players stand out more for better or worse.

Another thing.

Barry is 6ft5 but doesn’t feel like it when you see him on the pitch.

Whereas beto who’s 6ft4 looks every inch of that.

Beto starts for me against Leeds but I fear we’re really going to struggle to score goals again next season.
