He isn't.

He's absolutely not a near £50M player though.

I'd have been genuinely fuming if we'd shelled that out on him.

I wouldn’t say horrific more nowhere near a 50 million pound striker it’s a massively inflated fee

I think he gets double figures this season, which justifies that fee in this market.

I think even if he maximises his potential I can't see him really ever being worth more than £50m.

He's not got massively high ceiling imo, so they've paid top whack for someone who is basically just a massive gamble.

12 goals (10 open play) PL goals at Ipswich tbf. He was awful for Chelsea though and he was awful when we played Ipswich at Goodison, so happy someone else has paid lots of money for him

Who knows how he gets on, he could do well there if he can find his Ipswich form, but Chelsea making that profit on him feels ridiculous so on that level I’m ok we’re not the ones helping that particular business maneuver.

I expect we’re turning our attention to Flemming perhaps?

Fees are just astronomical regardless, but it's 45m for a 23 year old English forward excessive, I'm not sure?
We paid 30m for Beto when prices weren't as insane and he didn't have the usual English tax.
The irony is, some of those saying the fee is ridiculous have also said we should be getting 25/30m for JOB who can't even displace Michael Keane.
The fees in general are ridiculous, but this is much better value than 116m for Elliot Anderson imo

I dont think hes horrific and theres a decent chance it might work out for forest but the risk is way too big at 50m and sizeable wages. Hes only had 1 decent/good season in the premier league and he followed that with an awful 1.

The top teams are bullet proof but their failures dont even cost them. Theres always someone lower down willing to cover the entire mistake

He’ll be playing up front for England instead of Harry Kane soon.

I think it's the fact he went to Chelsea last summer and every time I saw him (admittedly I don't watch all their games), he looked utterly clueless and out of his depth.

That can happen. Some players don't fit some clubs and his Ipswich form was better than that, but given how last season went, the conventional pattern would be to cut your losses and move him on accepting a loss on him. He might then go to another club and do better but for them to turn a profit on him on the back of last season's showing just seems absurd to me and seems bad business from Forest. It's hard to imagine he does as badly for them as he did for Chelsea but it is a leap of faith on recent form.
