£18m is another good low purchase / high potential signing so smart business.

We're buying a lot of 23 and under players for reasonable fees (and Hackney who's 24), and whilst we need to accept some of these won't work out, it only takes a few for the needle to be moved both on the field, and off it, if and when we sell for high profit.

Now if we could PLEASE spend some money on some full backs I'd be most grateful!

Don’t think we’ll lose all that much if it doesn’t work out and we sell for a loss either.

We are a perfect club for young players who are not quite good enough for the ultra wealthy clubs to get regular game time and establish themselves.

We’re also a perfect club for the older ones who the ultra wealthy clubs are done with but still have a few years of good football left in them.

I’m glad we’re leaning into this approach a bit. If we could start to supplement those two main supply lines with the odd gem from abroad, we could be a perennial Europa League team with the potential to win the competition and we could also be in the mix for the FA Cup every year. I’d be extremely happy with that.
