This must do some damage to City's chances of getting through... Oh no, nevermind, the format doesn't allow big teams to exit the group stage anymore.

It could…could put them in some jeopardy by dumping them into the play offs. A little light entertainment in an otherwise boring competition.

Napoli in some mild danger I guess. But otherwise, yes.

I wonder if a result like that would effect the Premier League 5th place CL spot at all? Probably not.

If Arteta doesn’t win the PL this season he should be sacked - there’s no competition

Tbf I know they have big squads and it's the price of success but City's fixture list is ridiculous. Between November and probably March, they're basically playing every 3 days.

He’s like the football Tony Romo. Can call how a sequence of play is going to pan out and always has a good knowledge of the teams he’s commenting on.

He’s great.
One of my favourite players when he was with us

You'd think this would be the time when CL games get interesting, and maybe there will be some surprises, but genuinely have almost no interest in these fixtures tonight.

Teams at 16 and 18/1 in the CL is just wrong.

The fact Tottenham are 4th in this table tells you everything you need to know.

Aww, look at poor Goodison, all her seats ripped out and covers hiding the mess underneath. :(

The disrespect that City feel they needed to pay for fans tickets for the loss. The "we should have won" mentality. Arrogance.

We'll buy the league and cups and if that doesnt work we'll pay you, the fans, off.

It's what sport is.

Oh no, City might have to go into the playoffs and play another two games!

I thought the whole idea of this format was because clubs wanted more games and money though? 🤷‍♂️

1st Arsenal
4th Liverpool
5th Spurs
7th Newcastle
8th Chelsea
11th Man City

If this is where English teams are in the champions league then I'm sorry but the standard of football across the board is terrible right now.

I just think the Premier League is far stronger than other European leagues at the moment. That's why you had two teams just above relegation in the Europa League final last season, and you have a struggling Liverpool domestically beating European teams easily. The wealth and the depth of Prem teams far outweighs European competitors, bar a couple of superclubs.

If we manage to sneak into Europe this season or next, I'll be expecting us to go very far.
