Moyes said the team applauded his apology and all is forgiven

Bit of a silly pass for Gueye to be doing there, but also Keane just standing like a statue and making no attempt to move

That’s what made it all a bit wtf for me - it wasn’t a good pass by Gana, and Keane could have at least made an effort. They were both at fault IMO so for it to kick off the way it did was a bit nuts.

Not ideal to lose him but the AFCON is approaching soon anyway so we have to learn to play without him

Just wasn't expecting it (understandably imo) so was never set to move, he's flat footed not because of any fault of his own, just because it was a mad no look pass in his own box by Gana.

I doubt Moyes will ever tell his players to play passes like that in their own box, was a mad moment by Gana followed by an even bigger one.

All very weird but looks like it's all fine in the camp and we won so not the issue it could have been.

I never thought I'd see the day when Pickford is the cool head in the team who defuses a situation.

He just noticed a small zit on Pickfords chin which Pickford was unaware of and he popped it for him, that's all.

I've been rewatching the red card incident and I think one of the strange things about it is that we're so used to players going down at the slightest of touches that this (in terms of a potential to cause damage) nothing slap and Keane just standing there afterwards feels weird.

Should never have been sent off.

The refs and the PGMOL like to stand behind "rules are rules" when it suits them but are also quite happy to repeatedly say things like "It's too early to give a yellow card for that" and "He's got to manage a big game like this", so there's clearly a massive amount of leeway when it suits them as well.

Although there might be a throwaway line about it also applying to players of the same team, the rules are written with the thought of opposition players going at each other. Common sense should have dictated it wasn't worth a red card and the ref should have allowed Everton players the opportunity to sort it out themselves and just a yellow card each.

I wonder what would have happened if he hadn't sent him off... Would have been a bit awkward on the pitch, think there's every chance we don't win that if he'd just ticked Gana off or booked him.

Think the fact we don't appear to be appealing it says it all. We can argue all day long whether he should have been sent off or not but it's not a huge injustice that he was.

Think the whole violent conduct thing is a bit silly. A slap or just touching someone with your head is violent (when it suits) but you can deliberately hack someone down and that's fine.

We might not have felt the injustice on the night, but I feel we might in the next 3 games he will miss. Particularly Saturday against a very combative midfield.
