NomadskiEFC wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 1:30 pm It's hard to talk about this after a comfortable 2-0 away win when our resident striker has scored, but we can't forget all the games we really struggle to even create a shot on goal let alone can't hit a barn door. It's imperative we get a RB and a striker so we can offload Beto.

We will end up getting another CB and a goalkeeper knowing us.
Yeah, RB if there is a decent one available and a CF if we sell Beto is what I would like to see.

I wonder if we will go back in for Ake on loan?

I'd rather we did loans only or nothing if the right players are not obtainable though

Echo reporting that we won’t be doing much, if any business. Might entertain bids for McNeil and Patterson and a few youngsters to go out on loan

I wouldn't be angry if we do zero business. Think we need to see where the squad is at and build slow. If we sell Beto then yes bring a striker in or if a decent right back is obviously available. Otherwise I'm ok with what we've got

Be nice to make some signings but what is vitally important is that we dont waste money

You can't have 2 players from the same club simultaneously can you ? ..on loan..

Don't need Ake really. FB's are more of a priority and a striker, at least as backup for Bazza

A couple of loans will be fine. I'm a bit concerned we don't know the extent of Keane and Charlie injuries.

This month is a glorious chance to get points, we don't want to cock these games up because we don't have a squad.

Brentford H
Wolves H
Leeds H
Brighton A

All games we should be looking for 3 points.

Hopefully we get our loans done early doors 🤞🏻

I would be happy with a rb send Patterson out on loan no point blowing money in January maybe a nice loan or 2 just to add a bit of depth I think bringing Armstrong back is a mistake

With the generally more positive feeling around the club I think we should be trying to look for good players looking for a pre World Cup loan and try and get an option to buy. If we end up buying them it gives us the chance to make a stronger start next season as we know we have to generally wait for deals later in the window and then we’re trying to bed them in with the season underway.

West Ham are going to sign strikers this window. I think Callum Wilson would be a viable option to take some of the load off Barry without hampering his progress or affecting what we can do in the summer.

Ideally we’d bring in a good quality fullback but otherwise I’d be ok if we didn’t bring in new players unless a good opportunity or loan is available towards the end of the window

I think if we sign a 29+ year old striker who is more rounded it will just eat into Barry's opportunities.

Maybe that's fine maybe it's crap I dunno

If we sell Beto I'm up for bringing in a completely different option (in terms of style) to Barry. Preferably someone you could play alongside Barry when needed, as unpopular as 2 upfront is nowadays.

It's about balance for me. If we push for a European slot, we need a better squad with more depth. Or, do we accept our progress and enjoy not fighting to survive, then invest in the summer for a big push next season. I'm okay with the latter myself. Also, if we hold off, we can get rid of those we don't see going forward... Beto, McNeil etc..

It would be crap.

This team as constructed isn’t up to anything even with a quality RB and striker. Midfield’s still not good enough moving the ball, left back is still poor, etc.

Our relatively safety is a free pass to give a whole bunch of young players minutes they would not have gotten in previous season relegation battles. Legitimately the best case scenario for this season given the players we signed last summer.
