It still baffles me how fans can think that young players who have hardly played at ANY level, nevermind in the top leagues, are ready to get serious minutes for a team who’s main goal is to avoid relegation. It’s a good strategy to bring them in but patience is needed. They won’t all work out but at least we’ve brought in young talent that might make us a good team in a few seasons. We have to rely on reliable players because they can drag us to safety even though it’s not glamorous. If the likes of Dibling, aznou, George etc were all playing week in week out then they’d get as much hate as Barry, who has been thrown in out our necessity.

Irola brought rayan from Brazil a raw teenager and put him straight in now in the Brazil squad Brighton do it all the time it can be done if there is the right people in charge to do it

Yes Rayan was used immediately but for Bournemouth Brentford and Brighton, they’ve had plenty on their roster getting very little game time until they were ready.

Rayan's a bit of an outlier, because he's a big unit and he runs through people like an ox. Not many 19 year-olds with the physicality to come straight into the Prem and be able to handle it comfortably.

I'm at the point with him where id consider letting him go for something in the region of 50m. Although considering the fact we hardly get to watch in I've no clue how they are....

You could use that argument but also do you think if irola had got dibling last summer he would have used him like Moyes it’s very much down to philosophy as well and trust people are writing off young players because they saw 5 minutes and didn’t like them

I think we all want to see exciting young talent coming through, but they work best in a solid team where they can be protected a bit, make mistakes and the pressure is not all on them.
Right now we are expecting a young player (or several) to come in and fix a squad more disjointed than a bucket of chicken wings. It’s just not the place to bring them in and Moyes knows that. But he’s too defensive and probably wants the other 10 outfield players to be solid 7/10 professionals aged 27-31 before he’ll free up a ‘project space’ for a youngster to learn in.
