Fucking stop it.
VAR will disallow a goal for it one day.

I mean, there's our former left back in arguably the best team in the world, hitting the bar with a terrific shot from outside the box, against another top team in the quarter finals

Blatant penno, the defender didn't even contest it.
Looking at a potential foul in the buildup apparently, and they had to go back 21 minutes to check

Shogun wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2026 8:35 pm The stutter pen is just bizarre. If the keepers stays still (as most do) then all it does is make things harder.

If you do a slow penalty where you basically walk up to the ball and decide at the last instance (Ndiaye for us, Neymar the other night against Norway) when at that the keeper has to dive and you're good enough to that then fine but these players seem to essentially be giving themselves a 2 yard run up with no advantage from doing that.
The only way it works is when they actually have a confident plan for when the keeper doesnt move. Too many of them look lost the second the keeper stands his ground

Loved Digne, he was like methadone preventting Baines withdrawal symptoms.

Find they tend to not hit the corner or have any pace either, as a result. So as a keeper, you can litterally stand your ground, see which way it goes and react, you dont need to anticipate

Mbappe clearly still hasn't found what he was looking for, should be ONE up to France

Btw Low block seems really effective against France, where is the Bayern version of Olise and PSG version of Dembele. For me, so far they have been poor with the exception of Dembele's hat trick in the group

Perfectly put.

I'm still frustrated, and I know it was a case of 'must sell' given our financial problems at the time, but I couldn't get over the narrative of 'it was the right time to sell because he was approaching his peak'. We needed him. Desperately. The last few years would have been less painful.

We didn't need two new fullbacks for the price of one. Of all the decisions this was the worst for me.

Escalator wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2026 6:11 pm England's Jarell Quansah and the USMNT's Folarin Balogun received red cards for "identical" high, studs-up, over-the-ball challenges. Quansah (England vs. Mexico) and Balogun (USA vs. Bosnia) were both dismissed by the video assistant referee (VAR). However, their outcomes were completely different, causing major controversy:
Would you want to fire up Norway in the same way Trump did Belgium?
