I don’t know, probably nothing, just the similarity in age, Moyse signing was met with great fanfare, enthusiasm and expectation, Marcel Brands bigging him up, then sent out immediately on loan after loan before fizing out. I guess the difference here is he won’t be sent out on loan, anyway, was just a feeling, probably go on to be the signing of the century.

Re: Tyrique George
Dunno about that. We're trying before buying so nothing like the Moise Kean deal.

Re: Tyrique George
'The committee' always give me visions of the Muppets and in this case cycling up Fulham Road to do the deal.
Re: Tyrique George
I worry slightly about if he ends up being good and we buy him.
Rohl obligation to buy, I’m assuming Grealish for a decent chink, and this fella would be what, £30-40m?
That’s a lot of money on three players already at your club.
Need to start getting away from loan deals down the line.

I'd worry more if he ended up being shite. But I take your point.
Loan deals though, are the best way to de-risk any future investment, you can have a good luck. Loan deal on Dibling would have been nice, for example.

I wonder if we have structured our deals this year in this way because we have A LOT of wiggle room next summer.TheRam wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 11:11 am I worry slightly about if he ends up being good and we buy him.

Re: Tyrique George
He's not going to be 30-40m , link with Roma and Fulham last window and was 15-20m if I remember correctly....
Not going to be more than KDH..

Re: Tyrique George
If this is the case, the recruitment team should be finding the next 3 deals we can do the same with.TheRam wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 11:11 am I worry slightly about if he ends up being good and we buy him.

As long as our objectives are being met, I.e. improving the quality of the squad and staying within budget.
Also, there will inevitably be some sales, probably including someone we dont want to see leave.
I'd have said Branthwaite was the obvious one before his injuries, but not sure we'd get a fee big enough until hes shown an injury free period. Ndiaye maybe?

Re: Tyrique George
Glad to finally be in a financial position to pick up the talented young players Chelsea are just throwing away because they’re stupid.
Really sucked watching CHO go to fucking Forest. Should’ve been ours.

Re: Tyrique George
I like how much his highlights are about shooting and not about dribbling, and the shots are well struck with actual pace.
We've got a lot of dribbly, creative type players and could definitely do with a Mirallas type who is sort of selfish and just shoots a lot, George looks like he'd fill that gap.

Can finish and has pace, looking forward to seeing him on one side and Ndiaye on the other
