Think he means the whole tournament

Guess he’s such a good presence around the camp they won’t be sending him home, though he might struggle to get a picture lifting the World Cup

I was watching that on BBC Breakfast this morning and was so disappointed some wee twat didn't shout out the result while they were watching it. :)

Incredible core memories for those kids.

I still vividly remember watching the Tunisia game in 98 at school.

My school opened early for Brazil in 2002 but I watched it at home and remember how grim I felt walking to school.

The World Cup is the best.
The World Cup is the best!

I've been with my wife for 15 years and any football-based conversation involving my MIL has been her checking with my wife to see if I've been grumpy after Everton have lost.

Unfortunately, my FIL has quite advanced dementia, but MIL started watching the football with him as a release. She's been staying up watching matches and, for the first time in those 15 years, we've actually connected on a different level - she doesn't have any particular understanding of the game, but is just glad for the diversion and has really thrown herself into it.

Ah I saw when he got his yellow card on the bbc website and misread that as him coming on as a sub.

Even better, him not even getting game time and still managing to be a monumental fuckup.

I think there's always an enjoyment level to the world cup that means it will always be great to watch as a football fan.

The fact Iran were treated the way they were and then you this mental case admitting to corrupting the tournament then let's not bury our heads in the sand and pretend there haven't been elements of this tournament that have been a disgrace compared to other world cups.

This just makes me want to vomit, I have serious concerns that this fucking moron will not accept the result if USA gets beat in any of the next three games, this fucking piece of shit seriously believes that he will be handing the World Cup over to the U.S. team, it’s what any narcissistic sociopath would imagine.

I mean he's literally owning up to interfering with it, and political interference is a complete no go which is supposed to result in the suspension of a federation. Infantino's position should also be untenable now.

The fact that this will have no consequences is a sad reflection not just of football, but the world in general these days

Puts a damper on enjoying maybe the best US team we’ve ever seen.

May well go out tonight but this team has actually played well with the ball on the deck unlike so many hardworking hit-and-hope teams of the past.

So Belgium sent FIFA a letter simply asking for clarification as to how they arrived at their decision, and FIFA have replied that they consider the letter an appeal and they have a tight time limit to finalise their appeal, even though the Belgian FA simply asked the details of FIFAs original decision?

The Belgians are threatening to take this as far as they can, even if it takes months to get there.

Fair play.

Opened themselves up to it.

Just overturn the red card.

Suspending the punishment is batshit.
