What have I said there that's not true?
The 'we played better last season' line is a properly skewed version of reality because everyone remembers us not winning a game in 3 months.

AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:23 am The fact we didn't win for 3 months last season sort of debunks the idea we played better all the time last season.
It could even be argued that despite not playing well we've picked up 9 points on 5 games instead of not picking up points would also suggest he'd found a way to avoid the long winless run of last season despite having largely the same players at his disposal.
I guess it all just depends on which side of this coin you want to look at it from.
No but you failed to recognise that we were also mega shit for a prolonged period last season with the same players... It's a skewed argument because you failed to take in to account the part where we were absolutely shit with this same set of players too.
Yes the players can play better, they have also shown they can spend a long period playing shite... It's both, not one or the other.superpull wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 9:24 am Being shit from December to March.
Well, actually, being shit from last December to now, doesn't take away the fact we were really effective from August to December last year.
These players and this manager played a brand of football that the shogs/braps/BDs of the world don't particularly like, but was able to get the crowd invested and get points.
You're honestly just arguing for the sake of arguing now.
This manager and these players can play better football (and demonstrably have for a statistically relevant period of time).
It is the height of apologism to say these players are the dregs and can't do any better
That's the line you're arguing against.

I can absolutely admire a staunch defence of a position, but come on lads. If this was another walk of life, I would swear you were both on somebody's payroll.
I'd like to hear your views on parking fines, long haul flights and the genocide in Gaza.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:30 pm There's only about 6 active topics on the forum. What else is there to talk about
Erm okay. Not a fan, depends on the movie and not a fanBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:33 pm I'd like to hear your views on parking fines, long haul flights and the genocide in Gaza.
This is where it seems like people are arguing about different things.superpull wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 9:24 am Being shit from December to March.
