It’s clear he’s Gana sign the contract. The lads are very confident of that. Hence the digression into Buffy. Simples.

He is the chosen one.
Or
He has spent the last few years playing at a good approximation of the Hell mouth.
It will be one of them.

As long as he doesn't spend one entire game singing all his lines and dancing about, the new contract is the thing I want to hear about most.

Decidedly in the minority here - but I am pleased that we aren't just rolling over with these contract negotiations. Yes, I want him back. But I absolutely acknowledge that he could hit the wall (age comes for us all) and become unplayable at any moment.
I also don't believe that anyone is offering him a remotely comparable deal to what he can get here.

Idrissa Gueye will sign his new Everton contract in the next few hours. Gueye will sign a 1 year deal with an option of another year

We've done well to get him on that deal because that doesn't sound great from his side. Unless we're paying him ridiculous amount that is.

The second year will be triggered by a set number of appearances, which shouldn't be an issue for him. Assuming he stays fit, it's basically a 2 year deal.
