Jordan Pickford
Re: Pickford
Listening to the Unholy Trinity podcast and they said Pickford was screaming at the bench to make some subs, and it's the second game in a row he's done this.
Anyone know if this is true?

Re: Pickford
Yep.
He does it every game.
Constantly at the bench to change it and hates having to hit it long everytime.

Re: Pickford
Really? Yikes.
Biggest fear with him is that Chelsea realise they have a shit keeper and come knocking in January.
Re: Pickford
Don't think we need to worry about Pickford going anywhere at this point, he's missed the boat and probably would only go to Manchester side and that ain't happening
Re: Pickford
Absolutely no chance he hates hitting it long, that's his most used kick, from one end, straight out of play the other
Re: Pickford
We are ridiculously lucky this lad has stuck it out with us. He's going to go into the books of, "deserves some silverware" like Baines etc

Re: Pickford
Been mostly very good for us, but I would be absolutely fine with selling him for a large fee, if the chance came. He does also cost us goals at times that other keepers wouldn't.
Think you could get a very good keeper for £20-25m and not lose too much.

Re: Pickford
You mean like Chelsea, Utd and City all easily replaced their keepers?Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 2:49 pm Been mostly very good for us, but I would be absolutely fine with selling him for a large fee, if the chance came. He does also cost us goals at times that other keepers wouldn't.

Re: Pickford
Ortega's an excellent backup. Utd and Chelsea's recruitment have been mad for a while, so I wouldn't cite them as an example no.
I like Pickford, but I'd still sell him if we got a big fee. I don't think that's controversial.
Re: Pickford
Definitely not controversial, very player has a price is often repeated because it’s true. However, I do think Pickford is more than simply a good keeper.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 2:56 pm Ortega's an excellent backup. We are short on players and almost bereft of quality. In such circumstances Pickford is something of a talisman for both club and supporters. He is the undisputed number 1 for one of a top 5 international team, he makes saves that win/save games, he (apparently) loves us, he has that little bit of madness about him, etc.
In short, he’s worth more to us than the some of his parts and brings more to us short term than a competent replacement would. I’d do everything possible to keep him.

Re: Pickford
Yeah, I hear ya. Just don't agree. I think we need to sell more when players are at their peak value.Mouse wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 3:07 pm Definitely not controversial, very player has a price is often repeated because it’s true. However, I do think Pickford is more than simply a good keeper.

All the positive and negative things that are said abut Pickford are true imo.

Re: Pickford
Don't disagree loads with you mate often but couldn't disagree more here. Think he's been mostly great for us and his errors particularly given the shit show he often plays with are relatively low. We would get a decent enough keeper for the amount you mentioned but don't think they would match him.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 2:49 pm Been mostly very good for us, but I would be absolutely fine with selling him for a large fee, if the chance came.
