Generally you don't get a player who has a super human work rate and pressing ability, and still has the energy to be composed with the ball. That's an elite level player.
But if we're coached to be a good pressing team, we don't need that one player who makes up for the lack of team pressing organisation.
Alcaraz is still raw, but a goal and an assist in his first start is a huge positive sign that we can begin to phase Doucs out.
He either stays on lower wages as a squad player or we move him on.

That would be Fede Valverde, and he probably costs £150m.

I think there is going to have be quite large overhaul of this squad in the next 3 transfer windows, maybe less
We basically have Pickford and 3 others maybe
The rest will need replacing phasing out
Gana Gueye is going to be realy diffcult to replace imo
Doucoure om this seasons form is less of a worry, i think there are a fair few who can take us past his level

Straight back in v united I think, he will cause them all kinds of problems crawling all over them

Tough call because if you swap out Harrison we lose much needed width on that side, and I'm not sure you can drop Alcaraz after an assist and goal.
I do agree he'll be back in but I'm not sure for who.

Drop Alcaraz for sure, it's no knock on him, Doucs just feels a better fit for this match to me

Yeah agreed, it's the right call for against United, the way they play.

The atmosphere will be electric for this again and if we can do to them what we did to Liverpool, they don’t have the quality to cope.
Beto and Douc are just a wrecking ball up top. Keep them close together, say 10 yards apart and jumping/bashing into their defence and they will have a nightmare trying to stop them, especially when the ball is around their box.

Think we will see deals for both Doucoure and Gueye in the coming weeks.

Run them around the gaff for 80, then Charly to give us something a bit different in the last 10 as we close out another win

Yeah, thinking about United's lack of legs in the middle of the park, Abdoulaye in there alongside Gana would overwhelm them.

You’d expect so

Be nice if Doucs and Charly keep trading games with a goal and an assist each
