You’d assume they’ll hire a new DoF before a manager, no?
Ashworth then Potter

Ashworth getting some flack for apparently not only demanding UTD stick by Ten Haag because he won the cup, but then putting together a shortlist recently to replace him or Potter and Howe, which then led to his departure.
Not sure he's pulled up many trees with his signings there either tbh.

I say fair play to him, his job, as Director of Football should be the hiring and firing and if he didnt like it then hes within his rights to state that, and eventually move their separate ways. We had a DoF previously that said all these things after he'd been sacked, in Brands, but he was gutless and just went along with what was done for the sake of a paycheck, at least Ashworth appears to have some principles and will stand up for them.
But irrespective of that, are people really looking at his time at United as a gauge on how good he is!!? These things dont come over night, he wasnt good at Brighton after 5 months, these things take years. Appointing people is easy, but changing the cultural challenges and the way things have always been done is massive. Even if he did come to Everton, you wouldnt see the benefits for 5/10 years, and thats providing everyone bought into the philosophy and things went well.
And 'his' signings were fine, 4 out of the 5 have probably been Uniteds better players this season

Toffee TV Baz reckons ashworth wanted Southgate at united as well.
Obviously not great signs those but who knows.
Can't deny the work at Brighton, the proof is in the pudding in that case altho he had complete buy in from ownership which who knows elsewhere. altho if he went back and we got Davey weir, I'd take that I think.

Doing the rounds, see what comes of it on Friday I suppose.
The deal will be announced on Friday, Bell and Downing will be non exec. directors., Thelwell staying ‘til the end of the season, Dyche has been told they don’t like his style of football, Keane could be going back to Burnley, and a massive £200M sponsorship deal for Bramley Moor, the only thing that sounded strange was that the deal was being held up with Jenny Seagrave being awkward over Kenwright’s shares because of bad blood with the club but that should be sorted out.

Most of it came from this chap on Bluesky, except for the Seagrove bit. So pinch of salt for now.

I saw something that said the bobble said those dudes turned down the offer of a role on the board.
Either way it’s imminent and we can put this sorry chapter behind us.

Wow, could be an early Christmas present.
It'll be a huge relief to get this done so the club is hopefully finally on more stable financial footing.

I mean hopefully it's true that the deal is almost done, but that sounds a bit made up.
Why would any prospective owner tell the current manager they don't like his style of football? They may think it, but it'd be a dumb thing to say out loud until they have any control over the situation and have the ability to appoint a successor. Sounds like something a fan would write.
We'll see I guess.

Someone put Jenny in a headlock.
