I think he is poor in his six yard box defending crosses or corners

He is and always will be, but so is Vicario and people rate him very highly.
He seemed to claim a lot more against Newcastle but then tried that with England and was all over the place.
He'll never be dominant in those situations and trying to be often leads to as many problems as him just being rooted to his line.

That's why you have defenders,
Goalkeeper and cbs are a unit, the derence has left him exposed in these situations this season,
Am not saying pickford is perfect or that he can't make mistakes but he is pretty solid the vast majority of games he plays
I feel his pros way out weigh his cons
Alison is regarded as one of the best keepers in the world yet he makes massive mistakes about 2-3 times a season he tries a Cruyff turn in the box but no one says fuck all about him in the mediia coz Liverpool fans would loose there shit
For me and even my Liverpool supporting mates rate him as just below the top elite keepers somewhere in say the top 4 or 5 in the league, tbf one of my red mates rates him higher than I do
So a honest question what has pickford done this season that is so bad?? Because I've not noticed much in the way of fuck ups from him that can't be explained by the defence being poor or is this all based off one shitty England performance??
Question isn't aimed at you Andy I just used ur quote as I agree with what you are saying

He’s been immense at times. Best for us since Southall when he’s on it. Behind Martyn and Howard when he’s not. Absolute last when his head’s gone.
Overall I’m very happy with him.

Picks is probably in the mix with Richard Wright, Mhyre, Kearton and Simonson...... Only joking.
We haven't been blessed with some of our keepers, but I think Martyn was top draw and much more consistent. I think there's an arguement to be had about Howard and Picks, but id have Martyn everyday of the week

Pickford is streets ahead of time howard imo.
Always thought howard was a quite poor keeper.

Agree with that. He's a better keeper than Howard, no doubt. Tim as likeable as he is was a liability and the weakest link in a strong team.
I wouldn't put Pickford in the same class as Nigel Martyn though. Martyn was heading towards the end of his career but is still the best keeper we've had since Nev.

Martyn very rarely made mistakes but keepers weren't expected to play with the ball as much back then so he wasn't put under the same scrutiny/pressure. I'd argue Pickford made more spectacular impactful saves than Martyn

Martinez’s style of playing from the back made Howard look a poor keeper, as he had Stones pissing about with ball in his own box then play a suicide ball back to Howard.
He was up there with Martyn for me.

Same. Martyn was consistently very good. Howard was consistently good with the occasional howler. Pickford is occasionally excellent, usually good and sometimes horrific. Usually good and occasionally excellent is well above our level right now.

Never rated howard.
Had a very good defence infront of him and seemed to concede a lot of bad goals.

1) Southall
2) Martyn
3) Pickford
4) Howard
And I really rate Pickford and didn’t have too many issues with Howard

Mimms I think suffered a lot in comparison to Southall and should not be in with the likes of Myhre and Gerard. Stick Wessels in there instead!
Can’t help but think what would have happened if we had Southall for the FA Cup final though…
