Yeah 48 teams hasn’t added anything, apart from ridiculous 3rd place qualification and teams playing for draws knowing they’ll get through

Have to say I've lost a fair bit of interest in the tournament generally. Only thing keeping my interest was some of the less fancied nations doing well, but a lot of them seem to have lost narrowly now, and I find France/Spain/Argentina/England/Brazil really boring.

I've found France anything but boring. I also enjoyed watching how technical the Spanish players were and how they're able to move so fluidly. Light years ahead of England.

I've found the narratives around the top teams and players to be a bit much.

I don't watch much football these days, outside of Everton, so seeing the top players turn up and the some of the smaller nations competing, and their fans bringing a lot of joy, has been good fun to watch. I've enjoyed it so far.

I’m the opposite of that.

I love the smaller nations causing upsets but at this stage I want the big hitters going at eachother.

We could be settling in for Germany vs France tonight but instead we get France vs Paraguay which isn’t the same.

Hoping we get France vs Morocco, England vs Brazil, Colombia vs Argentina in the next round.

I don't think it's been a great world cup tbh.

There'll always be shit games in any world cup, but adding in the extra teams just increases that. Be it two crap teams playing league one togger, or a poor team being spanked by a far superior one.

The scheduling is crap too albeit not much can be done about that, but too often the 10pm or 2am game is far more appealing than the earlier one, so I end up watching a boring match and missing the better ones.

It's not been a total bust, it's had some good moments and good points, but seeing a 41 year old Ronaldo celebrate scoring against Uzbekistan kinda sums up this one for me.

Hopefully the round of 16 onwards starts sprinkling some proper magic on things, as after a promising start to things I've found my interest has diminished somewhat.

I think it's been decent personally, there have been some poor games but they seem to be the exception. I think France have been great to watch, they've been playing exceptional attacking football.

Agree that I want to see big hitter v big hitter now, and my only real gripe about this world cup is that it's dragged on for too long. It feels like we should be around the semis now, not just getting in to the last 16. I think that's my biggest objection to having 48 teams.

Playing Morocco today. They are excellent, I know not a traditional powerhouse but better than they were in 2022 when they went to the semis.

A close match would be good honestly, getting past them would be dreamland.

Already achieved everything we would hope in this world cup so it's all gravy now.

Good start by Canada, a bit surprising how much on top they have been but they need to make it count as presumably Morocco will improve.

Yes, last time against Morocco was not dissimilar. Need to score when on top.

All the concerns about not capitalizing when on top now. Really should have scored and now struggling in the second half quite a bit.

Need subs soon, not sure what Marsch is waiting for here.

Feel like a goal is coming.

Surely time for Davies?

No Davies is a bad sign. Going out without a goal in the next 10 and no warming up.

Awful decision unfortunately by a 20 year old centerback to try and play a through ball when he really shouldn't.

Looking forward to seeing what these could do against France.

Best counter attacking side in the tournament so far.
