Cape Verde deserved better.

Nothing likable about Argentina imo. Quite horrible actually.

Really sad to see Cape Verde out of the tournament, they have been inspirational especially in this game where they really did frighten the reigning World Cup champions and Messi and were really courageous going forward and creating goalscoring opportunities.

I'm going to sound like David Moyes but fuck it - Scotland should aspire to be like Cape Verde.

Moments like this that makes it worthwhile having 48 in the cup. Even if its a FIFA money grab.

Well done Cape Verde. What a hit from Cabral.

Wish I'd seen it live, overheard the score before I could get to the remote.

Aw man.

Watching the highlights this morning and I made the mistake of allowing myself to believe.

What a goal from Cabral though. And then him running into the crowd to try and find someone to celebrate it with was just pure joy.

The decision to have 48 teams has been fully justified.

This World Cup has been fantastic.

Cape Verde would have qualified for a 32 world cup, they topped the qualification group

I don't follow international football but fair play to Cape Verde. That would have been fantastic. The one thing about the 48 team world cup and these groups that FIFA will like is the moaning about the majority of third place teams qualifying with very mediocre records. That is exactly the reaction they are after to pave the way to the next amendment to 64 teams with 16 groups of 4 and just the straight top two qualifying again. That seems an absolute certainty in the medium term now.

There's been a lot of shit games at 3 o'clock in the morning and I cant celebrate something that splits our game into quarters. Fuck off Infantino you alien looking mofo. That being said after the group games, the knockout games have been good.

Nobody will have watched Ghana last night and said "wow the 48 team tournament was a great idea". They didn't even have a shot on the BBC highlights against Colombia.

I’m struggling to have a proper opinion on forty eight teams due to the games being on the times that they’re on.

In theory I’m all for more football but I’m not staying up/getting up to watch poor standards

I haven’t seen a drop in standards.

If anything, the quality in this World Cup has been the best it’s ever been.

There were always a lot of shit teams and games in a 32 team World Cup and I can’t say that’s increased this world
Cup.
