But how could you not sell Branthwaite if someone met the asking price and he wanted to go, heed be off like a shot.

Or act like a proper football club, sell Brathwaite and Onana and replace them well?

We don’t need to spend a lot of money to replace these players.

Brathwaite cost £1.5m, so did Dom, Onana could have been bought at a fraction of the price if we got in earlier.

We bought John Stones for £1.5m. Tarkowski cost nothing.

Get on with it. Use whatever money we do have available wisely.

Agree with the premise, we really are near rock bottom in terms of quality after selling our best for years. We can't make em quick enough to sell.

As long as there's not an accelerated deduction for continued breaches, or suspended sentences tied up somewhere in their creative punishment schemes.


Clubs also have players (like Branthwaite presumably?) that want to leave, there's no requirement to let them go at the first sign of this especially if they've recently signed a lengthy contract. Things turn around here he might change his mind. Like Pickford, top class and happy enough where he is, being tested each week.
