777Kidnappings wrote: Wed Sep 18, 2024 6:48 am The squad is hideous. The complete lack of pace. The wingers and full backs are probably the worst in the league, some wouldn't get in okay championship teams

The managers performance has also been lacking this season too though. On top of that we are managing to write headlines now too. The losing from 2 up twice. It's a bit of a meaningless story but it's a big headline. Same with youngs penalty. It's the worst way we could have lost for the manager

Think dyche probably should go now. The dof has plenty to answer for too though
Pace is a massive thing, and the biggest disappointment is I think we do have it, its just his choice not to use it. It took Dyche I while to introduce Ndiaye into the starting line-up, but he can move and I think looks really good on the wing. He was a bit indifferent with his output, but Lindstrom looked rapid, as did Dixon. Tim has added a lot of athleticism to the squad too, and DCL looks like hes getting back to it, albeit he still cant finish, so I dont think things are as bad as you made out.

The squad itself does have issues, but imo, its easily good enough to finish in or around mid table, thats even with Dyche as manager. The defeat last night sums up Dyche, hes blind faith in people that have served him before at the expense of better options, that others can blatantly see. I think it was fitting that it was Young that compounded the misery for him cause he shouldnt have ever been given a contract in the first place

Lindstrom most definitely is not rapid... The one on one he had a head start on the defenders, that was the only time he really got away from anyone.

I'm underwhelmed by him so far but does look like he's got a footballing brain and linked up well with Ndaiye once they were closer to each other on the pitch.

De Rossi has been sacked by Roma after 4 games - 3 draws one defeat... A decisive move early in the season.

Every manager has things they’re good and bad at at this level.

When the things you’re good at suddenly collapse that becomes a massive concern.

Dyche has always been good at the defensive side of the game and the off the ball stuff.

He’s always had that to fall back on. If you’re good enough defensively you’ll score just enough goals to get decent results.

That has completely fallen apart.

Look at his history in the premier league. His teams have always been good at defending set pieces, defending crosses and manipulating the opposition into taking bad shots.

It’s not like he’s changed the way we’re playing this season and it’s a matter of the players getting used to a new approach

It’s his way of football being found out and he doesn’t have the answers.

Maybe the drop off from Brathwaite to Keane is such an extreme this is what you get, but when he comes into the team we’re still going to be easy to play through in the midfield unless he changes approach.

If you want to defend high, then you have to press.

We’re being played through too easily, the centre halves are constantly jumping out the back four to win balls the midfield haven’t won and losing out. The ball then goes out wide and we can’t defend the cross because the centre halves are out of position.

As good as Brathwaite is he’s not good enough to make a team shipping three every game keep clean sheets.

Go three in the middle of the park. If you’re not going to press then drop deeper. If you are going to press then drop Tim for docoure who can do that job so much better.

4411, direct football, high line, little press isn’t going to work.

PED talking about getting a manager who can move us forward and advocating Thomas Frank.

Sure, he’d be a good appointment but why do people ignore the state of our club and how it’s impossible to build something to improve upon year on year.

17th is still the aim.

Yeah no Manager is coming to us with a progressive style unless we sell up. Our future hinges on the next lunatic to buy us.

Imo our squad isn’t as bad as what we are seeing at the moment yeah there are problems but it’s still way better than what we are currently seeing it’s down to dyche to sort out the issues but I think he is out of ideas here no plan b or anything different we all know he will play Keane and probably young on Saturday last night was so depressing he took off our target man who was shite but was occupying their defenders no point putting ndayie up there challenging for long balls needs to change it up play gana Mangala and duke in midfield Saturday with ndayie dcl and McNeil up top press them force mistakes and get the tempo up

Get branthwaite back in.

Start holding a proper line.

McNeil left, we need the width. He can still be productive from here.

Ndiaye 10.

Lindstrom right.

Patto RB.

Gana + Mangala / Doucs / Garner

Only play Tim when we want to really turn the screw on a team or press them like mad and don't care about being played through.

This will all happen over the next 4-5 games and we'll pick up 6-8 points. If not we're done this year regardless of what happens, and at that point we might as well get a project manager in and let him build for the champo.

It's completely delusional. He's already in a better job, we couldn't afford the compensation or to pay him significantly more than he's on to tempt him. How do people not know just what a mess we are in

He was very clear about how he'd love Frank but we have no chance of getting him.

Re: Dyche

We need to focus short term. We simply need to get to the end of the season in the league and ready for the move, with hopefully a takeover done, then literally turn start a new era, with new ground, new ownership and new players, cos half this squad will be gone in the summer for one reason or another. As such, your pool to replace Dyche is limited as realistically the new guy only getting to the end of the season, so who would realistically take it?

Seems like a straight choice between Dyche and Moyes.

Yeah exactly.

Why on earth would Frank come here? Better club by far already!

Obviously our options are severely limited, but it feels like something has to change and quick.

We didn't win for four months last season, four months!

This actually looks and feels worse.
